For dynamical analysis of a chipper, the writer experimented on cutting resistance of wood with a hydraulic press and calculated cutting angle of the raw wood. He insisted on the importance of an adequate volumetric efficiency in order to determine the size of the chipper and reported, by a diagram calculation, on the changes of energy when cutting and on the power needed by the chipper.
The author in continuation of his paper on the above subject, confirms the use of about 22-3 % of chmicals for the cooking of red pine by sulfate process as necessary amount and makes the effects exerted upon reaction speed etc. clear, by studying the relations of liquoration and concentration of liquor and the amount of chemicals to be added.
