This paper contains a comparative analyse of the statistical spreading parameters for some quality characteristics of thin flax yarns, 50 tex (Nm 20), 41.7 tex (Nm 24) and 38, 5 tex (Nm 26) from hackling flax, produced by wet spinning from bleached roving. This analyse make it possible to take decisions in a very short time about the behaviour of these yarns in the following stages of processing and in use. The statistical values used for characterisation of qualitative parameters distributions of yarns investigated are the coefficient of asymmetry, the coefficient of vaulting and the coefficient of excess. These coefficients make it possible to analyse in detail the distribution in comparison with the normal distribution.
The statistical analysis of the distribution flax yarns characteristics was made by the mathematical programme software proposed by authors. This project began with fibres characterization because yarn strength and component fibres properties have a strong correlation.

The decomposition and analysis of wrinkle profiles (signals) utilizing the wavelet transforms are presented. The Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) is used to analyze their wavelet coefficients C, which indicates the similarity closely correlated with the wavelet, and their wavelet power spectra. The signal can be decomposed into an approximation a5 and details dn with the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), and 3-D images of the fabric wrinkles decomposed is obtained, proving a convenient format for the analysis of wrinkles and identifying the characterization of wrinkles. The analysis of wrinkle properties of AATCC replicas and fabrics are performed with this method.

The paper reports the physical and mechanical properties of hand-woven carpets, which have been under static and dynamic forces. Two groups of wool fibres, from two parts of Iran, were prepared to spin pile yarn for the carpets. Each group of the fibres included both conventional and tanned wool. Then two yarn counts, Nm=4/2 and 6/2, were spun for two different knot densities. After weaving the carpets, they were put under static and dynamic forces and their thickness variations were measured and plotted against time (in case of static force) or number of impacts (in case of dynamic force). The resiliency of the carpets piles after eliminating the static and dynamic forces were measured and plotted against time, too. The results were compared to each other and analysed with respect to parameters such as the type and quality of the wool fibres as well as knot density of the carpet.
