  • 片麻痺者・対麻痺者の体型の特徴

    The figures of two types of paralysis of persons both paralyzed one side and paralyzed on the lower half body were measured, and the characteristics of their figures were analyzed in this paper.
    For persons paralyzed one side of the body, significant differences were observed in length and circumference dimensions. On the other hand, for persons paralyzed on the lower half of the body, differences were observed in circumference and breadth dimensions. Differences were observed in body figure characteristics depending on the disease that caused motor function disabilities and type of disability. The above figure characteristics is, therefore, much important for design of clothes for disabled persons.

    In the previous paper, we studied the ultraviolet ray shielding rate for cotton woven fabrics during the drying process from the high moisture regain. We found that the UVR shielding rate increased with decreasing moisture regain, and it showed a maximum in the drying process. In the present study, the UVR shielding rate was measured for stainless meshes as non-swelling materials and filter papers as unperforated materials in order to clarify the origin of the maximum of the UVR shielding rate for cotton woven fabrics, and ΔL* was measured as see-through property.
    The shielding rate of stainless meshes in wet condition was higher than standard condition and that of filter papers in wet condition was lower than standard condition. As the results, it was found that the shielding rate of fabrics decreased because of an increase in fiber swelling, but over a certain higher moisture regain, the shielding rate increased owing to a decrease in water contained in pore of the fabrics. The behavior of ΔL* of fabrics with the moisture was shown by the characteristics of stainless meshes and filter papers.

    Water absorption by a textile is analyzed as a kind of retarding system, such as viscoelastic matter in creeping deformation. The function of the mass of absorbed water versus time is expanded into a superposition of an infinite or finite number of linear-retardation elements characterized by different time constants. The spectrum of retardation time obtained thus shows several peculiar peaks at isolated time values which are greatly different in order of magnitude depending on the sort or weave density of the textile. This approach of analysis may throw a new light upon the study of fluid penetration through textiles.

    Our previous four papers are based on the change in exposure frequencies by an experimental method. On the other hand, this study is concerned with a possibility of the mere exposure effect exhibited in a daily life situation. After a blue judo uniform was approved by International Judo Federation (IJF) in October, 1997, we studied whether the mere exposure effect appears in case of a blue judo uniform among judo team students in three universities who have more exposure of judo uniform. Also we studied a change in preference for the colored judo uniform among non-judo team students in a university and a college who have less exposure of judo uniform, before and after the Sydney Olympic.
    Among judo team students, preference for women's blue judo uniform is increased with the passage of time, this is the mere exposure effect, while a great change in preference for a blue judo uniform was not seen among non-judo team students.
