Serum total protein and serum protein fractions were estimated in 21 dairy heifers three times (at 260 days of pregnancy and 5 and 35 days days after parturiton) in the first (January to April) and the second (June to September) period in 1973. As a result, there were significant differences in the general change of serum protein among the three times of estimation in every period. The absolute value and percentage of each of the four serum protein fractions were also significantly different among the three times of estimation. There were no particular fractions which exerted a great influence upon the general change of serum protein.

乳牛の栄養状態の評価をねらいとして, 簡易迅速な Azostix法による血中尿素窒素測定技術実用化試験を行ない, 次のような知見を得た.
1. Azostix法は噴射びん洗浄後直ちに判定するを原則とし, その判定に際しては多少の個人差があるが実用上支障はない.
2. ヘパリン添加4℃24時間全血保存は応用上可能と思われた.
3. Azostix法はDiacetylmonoximc法より多少高値, Unigraph法より多少低値を示したが, Azostix法とUnigraph法とはほぼ平行した成績を示し, Azostix法のほうが省力的であり推奨できる.
4. Azostix法は野外において, 乳牛の栄養状態評価に適し, 飼養法改善指導技術の中に容易に取り入れていくことができるものと思われた.

Groups A, B, C, and D of chicks were inoculated orally wiht 1, 10², 10⁴, and 10⁷ cellsper capitaof Salmonella sofia culture, respectively. During a period of observation, the organism was not detected from group A, but began to be detected from the digestive tract, feathers, and the bursa of Fabricius in groups B, C, and D on the 21st, second, and first day of observation. Group A and a control group were negative for antibody in the blood. Antibody began to be produced in groups B, C, and D on the 21st, 14th, and 10th day of observation and increased gradually. The chicks of these three groups seemed to be carriers to induce contamination of the environment and meat.

Five horses 5-8 years old weighing 350-480 kg were injected with 0.4 ml/kg of tranexamic acid (TA) into the jugular vein. In them, the average serum level of TA was 78.4, 39.8, 24.8, 11.9, 5.6, and 3.4 μg/ml 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours after injection. Velocity constant was 0.39. Initial concentration was 66.3 μg/ml. Biological half-time was 1 hour and 48 minutes. Volume of distribution was 124l. No horses manifested tremor, perspiration, or abnormality in respiration.
