Five horses 5-8 years old weighing 350-480 kg were injected with 0.4 m
l/kg of tranexamic acid (TA) into the jugular vein. In them, the average serum level of TA was 78.4, 39.8, 24.8, 11.9, 5.6, and 3.4 μg/m
l 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours after injection. Velocity constant was 0.39. Initial concentration was 66.3 μg/m
l. Biological half-time was 1 hour and 48 minutes. Volume of distribution was 124
l. No horses manifested tremor, perspiration, or abnormality in respiration.
