ジャーナル フリーFetal adrenal weight increased with the progress of gestation, especially after the 7th month of gestation. The ratio of adrenal weight to body weight decreased with the progress of gestation. The cells of zona glomerulosa and zona fasciculata appeared in the 4th month and those of the zona reticularis in the 7th month of gestation. Fetal zone-like cortical tissue appeared beneath the inner fascicular zone in the 4th month. Sudanophilic lipid droplets were found in considerable abundance in both zona glomerulosa and zona fasciculata in the 4th month. They graduall increased in size in the following order: zona reticularis<zona fasciculata <zona glomerulosa. Fetal serum 11-01-ICS level increased with the progress of gestation, especially after the 8th month of gestation.
The secretion and biosynthesis of the adrenocortical hormones by the fetal adrenal cortex began at 4-5 months of gestation. The fetal pituitary-adrenocortical function became maximum at the end of gestation. It was suggested that hyperfunction of the fetal pituitary-adrenocortical system near term might play an important role in the initiation of parturition in the cow.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (5017K) -

ジャーナル フリーA higher floating rate of canine hookworm eggs kept at 4°C was obtained from a single-chemical floating solution with a specific gravity of 1.10 than from a single-chemical floating solutoin with a higher specific gravity than this. When eggs of canine hookworm, canine whipworm, canine ascarides, Diphyllobothrium mansoni, and lung fluke were used, a higher floating rate wa. obtained mostly from a mixture of 2-4 chemicals with a specific gravity exceeding 1.23 than from any single-chemical floating solution.
When liver fluke eggs was tested, a very low floating rate was obtained from a floating soultion consisting of sodium nitrate alone and a mixture of this chemical and sodium chloride, but a high floating rate was obtained from a floating solution composed of zinc sulfate or magnesium sulfate alone or composed of these chemicals.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (898K) -

ジャーナル フリーAbnormal curvature of the thoracic vertebrae was found in 107 (6.9%) of 1, 555 swine studied in Hokkaido. A relatively high incisence was seen in some particular herds. The 4th to 14th thoracic vertebrae were involved. The apex of the curvature was present most frequently in the 8th and 9th one. The degree of curvature was 20 mm or less in a majority of those involved and 41 mm or more in a few. The corpus vertebrae became shorter in length. ジャーナル フリー愛媛県下の某養豚場において発生をみた滲出性皮膚炎について調査し, 次の知見を得た.
1) 1974年3～4月の2ヵ月間に分娩された30腹の子豚 (292頭) のうち, 24腹の子豚 (238頭) に皮膚炎を認め, そのうち171頭 (59%) が死亡または淘汰された.
2) この皮膚炎の臨床症状は, 滲出性皮膚炎のそれときわめて類似した. すなわち, 皮膚の異常は下腹部や耳部周辺の湿疹または発疹から始まり, ついには全身に波及し, 体表は滲出物が膠着して黒褐色となるものが多かった.
3) セルロースアセテート膜による電気泳動によって病豚および健康豚の血清蛋白の分画を比較したが, 両者の間に差異は認められなかった.
4) 皮膚の病変部および実質臓器からE. coliおよびS. aureusが分離された. これら分離菌はmpおよびCMに対して高い感受性を示した.
5) mpおよびCMによる予防および治療試験を行なったところ, かなりの効果をみた.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (2921K) -
