In case of connecting wind turbines to the grid, the total output obtained from multiplying the rated output by the number of wind turbines is often determined as the integration capacity. However, as all the wind turbines in the site are rarely operated at rated output, it is possible to obtain more power output in case of connecting number of wind turbines more than the integration capacity. We consider that decision of optimal wind turbines for wind farm replacement and repowering project is one of technique to maximize annual energy production (AEP) within a limited good wind potential site. Although investigation of replacement has already been studied in Europe and other countries, there are few cases of focusing on maximizing the AEP in wind farm using the number of wind turbines as a parameter. In
this paper, we investigate the effect of connecting wind turbines over integration capacity to the grid for new project and replacement. As a result of this paper, there is an advantage by increase wind turbines depending on various wind conditions and power curve.
