Since the Great Earth Disaster in March 11, we have come to realize that without being bound by the norm of commercial enterprises, the practical activities of social entrepreneurs are indispensable to solve social problems that Japan faces. The true assets of Japan include Japanese people themselves, their intellectual ability, spirit of cooperation, community building, and collaborative efforts. I believe that based on these cultural backgrounds, we can achieve social innovation by promoting the lively activities of social entrepreneurs.
On March 11th, 2011 a big earthquake of Magnitude 9.0 attacked North East Japan, followed by a high tsunami once in 1,000 years, which killed 25,000 lives. It caused unexpected disaster for Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plants i.e. my ideas to prevent such disaster and how to revive Japan, such as underground nuclear plant in Tokyo Bay, review of insurance regime, quick housing, transportation, electric power peak cutting in summer, water saving bath, recycling drinking water, temporary shelter under elevated railroad, individual recognition ring, migration, personal cooler, and rainmaking on seashore deserts.
Most of the present social problems and management tasks may come down to the problem of a system. When seen from the eco-system, a business enterprise as a management entity can be said to be one of the most, highly evolved systems. If a business model of an enterprise for the future is viewed from aspect of system, it will be important to develop further a model to maximize both economy (efficiency) and sociality (reliability) than in the past, requiring a highly integrated management for balancing these two factors.
The Three Mile Island Unit-2 accident was examined from the view point of chemical engineering. It was concluded that preventive measures for the TMI atomic power plant were insufficient compared with those of a chemical plant. Zirconium alloy cladding reacts with steam and generates a hydrogen and zirconium oxide, which loses mechanical strength. As a result, the fuel element melted. At the temperature of 871°C, zirconium alloy starts to react with steam. Zr + 2H2O → ZrO2 + 2H2 + 141 Kcal (1) The reaction rate was observed by Pawel et al., and they presented a rate equation called the Cathcart-Pawel equation. According to the Cathcart-Pawel equation , zirconium alloy cladding was oxidized for 40 minutes at 1649°C (Schneider, 1980). This paper will state that the simulation of a hydrogen explosion at a higher temperature results in a significantly shorter reaction time. For example, at 1000°C the time is 100 hours, whereas at 1500°C it is two hours.
In Micro-Grid or Smart-Grid energy network for city area, recently just electricity energy management system is focused without thermal energy or several kinds of city wastes. Here, in order to built up the whole energy management systems in the residential city area, we propose the energy independent city feature by use of energy conversion of several city wastes, those are a kind of city vein. In this article, we introduce the background of this idea based on Holonic — Energy — Pass and the image of revolution of city structure, and Kyoto — Keihanna Perfect Energy Conversion System , K2-PEC, which was demonstrated in practical Keihanna area.
Japan's Economy is stumbling since almost 20 years ago, and we call this continuous recession "Japan's two lost decades." This paper discusses potential problems and key factors in the society, causing the issues. The authors also extend the discussion that the lack of innovative change is a fundamental factor of these problems and causes the current economic recession. The social problems such as Japan's GDP growth, employment policies, recovery from "the East Japan Earthquake" imply the lack of innovative reforms and strong leadership.
Energy industries in Japan are at a cross road in the midst of a transition toward market contraction which can be called as "Paradigm Shift to Less Energy Era". Recent huge mess in the nuclear power industry and subsequent concern for power shortage across the country are accelerating the transition. Energy industries have successfully transformed themselves to be less dependent on oil, and then have tried hard towards De-Carbonization in line with the international initiatives for global warming prevention. During the courses, their strategies have thoroughly been supply-side oriented that had worked effectively in the period of energy growth, but they are missing appropriate directions at the very time of market contraction and nuclear deadlock. In the new paradigm of Less Energy Era, energy industries are required to stand on demand-side oriented strategies, with having keen insights into changing customers' needs. They have to focus on energy conservation business that is requisite to meet customers' values, even though it might be disruptive for their existing core business.
From the analysis of creation process of the new electronic materials business, having accomplished the key role to the success in the business was found to be presence of so called "Engineering Brand". The more efficient improvement of corporate management will be achieved by making this brand to explicit knowledge and implementing it to management, though this was tacit knowledge so far. The essence of this brand is thought to be embodiment power that can propose the solution of customer's demands through the technology. The brand is formed into the customer's mind and the market through the mutual trust between supplier's and customer's engineers. It can be said that an important element of the brand formation is to build the mutual trust between supplier's and customer's engineers. The engineers on the supplier sides should have a high level of antenna in information and have an ability finding solutions that propose effective measures. It is important for the corporation to train engineers necessary for this brand formation in the future.

Thus, the empirical study about Business Game (BG) on the online become important reference materials as companies and educational institutions try to introduce online BG. The aim of this paper investigates the educational effect of online BG using causality analysis based on structural equation models. That is, to confirm statistically that the use of online BG directly contributes to the competence of production and marketing management.
Although Japanese companies have the outstanding capacity for technological development and have submitted many patents, these things haven't had the result of strengthening Japanese company's international competency. In order to get out of this severe situation, it is important for Japanese companies to develop the effective patent portfolio in product value chain and standardize the interfaces of their technologies to spread their technologies. To achieve this, it is necessary to envisage strategies for the intellectual property together with the standardization from the stage of R&D.
Nuclear reactor was originally developed as the plutonium production equipment for the atomic bomb in World war II. We propose to reconsider on the key word "safety" to the pure "nuclear power plant" for only energy manufacture which is not for the military affairs.
Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster caused by the March 11 Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011 is one of historical lessons for us, human beings. It suggests us that it is the time for us to sincerely consider shift of civilization. We, the people of all over the world, together must now accelerate Paradigm shift from self centered material civilization confronting nature to life centered environmental civilization harmonizing with nature in order to help crisis of the Earth and human beings and change world trend. We come to the conclusion that we must change our lifestyle from self centered shallow ecology to life centered deep ecology. Thus it is important for us to be engaged in advocating "Promotion for Ethical oriented lifestyle" which means that we are true to keep our lifestyle to be ethical way and we try to aufheben (improve) the 21st century to be "the ethical oriented century" not remaining to be only "the century of environment."
Service research & education has been activated in interdisciplinary approach for service science proposed in 2004. This article shows the international situation of the research through reporting two International Conferences of Frontiers in Service Conference (FSC2011) and Service Research Innovation Institute Global Conference (SRII2011). The 20th conference FSC2011was held at Ohio state university (June 30 to July 3) by AMA SERVSIG and INFORMS. Total 112 presentations include various researches on value co-creation theoretical / service innovation (servitization) studies in 30 %, IT & cloud service by IBM and else in 10%, public / healthcare services in 10%, and empirical studies about mobile telecommunication, hotel and airline service. The presenters are from Northern America and European countries 80% and Asian including Japan 15%. The 1st Global conference SRII2011 was held at San Jose (March 29 to April 2) by ICT companies and related academia organizations such as IEEE. Total 96 papers were reflected by SIGs (Special Interest Groups) including almost same domains as FSC2011 but more oriented to ICT-enabled services and each chapter activities almost around the world. Service science has been entering the phase of more practical and integrated approaches in real service field from academia research activities.
