The symptoms of Go·Eray·Esun-show are thirst, oligulia, watery diarrhea, nausea, Vomiting like a fountain and headache etc. One of the most important symptoms is oligulia.
Go.ray·sun consists of five kinds of crude drugs. They are Polyporus 3, Alismatis Rhizoma 5, Atractylodis Rhizoma 3, Hoelen 3, and Cinnamonum Cortex 2. They are mixed and grinded into powder. Go·Eray·sun is taken 1 to 2g at a time. Go·Eray·Esun is very effective to thesyndrome of Go·E·ray·Esun-show and cure all symptoms dramatically. It has been thought that the blood osmolality is high because of thirst, and that the interstitial fluid osmolality is low because of edema in Go·Eray·Esun-show. But, from the physiological point of view, osmolality difference of crystalloids can not exist between them except temporarily. Therefore, I think the blood osmolality is also low. I found Go·Eray·Esun-show had a tendency to appeare after heat exposure. So, I speculate both Go·Eray·sun-show and heat acclimatization have a common mechanism. In summer, plasma osmolality is set lower than the level of winter. This shift of set point is caused by the repeated heat exposure, sweating, thirst and drinking.
Sho·E·kan·ron, a famous classic of Chinese medicine, tell us the way to differentiateGo·Eray·sun-show from physiological thirst, “In the case of physiological thirst, ifwater is givon little by litle, it will be cured. But, in the case of Go·Eray·Esun-show, even if water is given as much as possible, the thirst will not be cured.”I think this thirst means lowering of the osmolality set point. Therefore, I speculate that Go·Eray·Esunshow is a syndrome caused by lowering of the osmolality set point, and that Go·Eay·Esun normalizes the set point.
