This study examined the educational effect of camp training in universities for understanding the significance
of special activities and building up relationships. Survey method included image and consciousness survey that
were conducted on 25 university students who participated before and after camp training as well as on
fundamental strength as social workers. Result was, (1) all the students who had anxious feelings before the camp
training Recovered their feelings after the training. (2) Even with camp training in campus, except for one student,
most students Recovered of training's purpose. (3) It has become clear that the characteristic curriculum “
implementing plan creating manual ”, “Learning the dangers of the sea, mountain, and river”, “Post orienteering
in campus” which was developed for camping in the university, is effective as learning material. (4) About the
image of the camp, the good image increased by 10 points after camping implementation, exceeding 90% on
average, while confidence as a leader fell by 12 points. (5) Fundamental strength as social workers (composed of
“the ability to step forward”, “the ability to work in a team” and “the ability to think out”) increased by 80% and
20% had no change.
From the above, it can be inferred that even with camp training in campus, by cooperated acting, the building
up of human relations will improve. Therefore, it is desirable that camp training in campus should be considered
in university as a useful educational method that can achieve objectives of special activities without stopping the
camp due to unseasonable weather or unforeseen circumstances.
