ジャーナル フリーThe present study was undertaken to do phenotype determination of in vitro proliferating lymphocytes by PPD stimulation using combination of monoclonal antibodies and flow- cytometry.
The results obtained were as follows:
1) PPD induced a significant proliferation of activated T cell subsets (Leu4+DR+cells, IL2-R+Leu3+cells).
2) PPD also induced a significant increase in Pan T cells (Leu4+) and helper T cells (Leu3+8-).
Taken together, these results indicate that PPD induced proliferating lymphocytes belong predominantly to helper T cell subset.
3) The numbers of inducer T cells (Leu3+8+), suppressor T cells (Leu2+15+) and cytotoxic T cells (Leu2+15-) were not influenced by PPD-stimulation.
4) However, PPD induced a smaller, but significant proliferation of IL2-R+Leu2+cells.
5) The number of B cells (Leu4-DR+) tended to increase slightly after PPD-stimulation.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (700K) -

ジャーナル フリーWe reported 3 cases of severe tuberculous pneumonia associated with irreversible exacerbation and sequential death appeared after each intensive antitubercular chemotherapy containing INH, RFP, EB and SM.Acute tuberculous pneumonia probably represents an exudative hypersensitivity reaction to tuberculoprotein, rather than actual inflammation caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis organism.Mechanisms of the reversible roentgenographic progression are considered to be also similar to those of acute tuberculous pneumonia regarding the involvement of an exudative hypersensitivity reaction to tuberculoprotein.Our cases indicate that the involvement of reversible roentgenographic progression in patients with severe tuberculous pneumonia may result in the development of acute respiratory failure or adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), resulting from the acceleration of exudative hypersensitivity reactions by the intensive antitubercular chemotherapy.In the present report, relationships between tuberculous pneumonia, reversible roentgenographic progression and the appearance of acute respiratory failure (or ARDS) were discussed.Furthermore, the use of steroids is discussed.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (4259K) -

ジャーナル フリーMycobacterium malmoense strains are resistant to 1μg/ml ethambutol in Ogawa egg medium, whereas Mycobacterium nonchromogenicum strains are susceptible to this concentration.Therefore, these two Group III nonphotochromogens are differentiated clearly from each other by the susceptibility test for ethambutol1μg/ml.Ninty-five % of Mycobacterium avium complex strains are resistant to this concentration, while M. nonchromogenicum strains are susceptible.Therefore, the test serves for differentiating M. nonchromogenicum from M.avium complex.
Previously, Tsukamura (Kekkaku 45: 237, 1970) reported that pathogenic and non pathogenic mycobacteria of Group II and Group III are differentiated by the susceptibility test to ethambutol, 5μg/ml.However, the use of Ogawa egg medium containing1μg/ml ethambutol is superior to that of 5μg/ml ethambutol for differentiating pathogenic and nonpathogenic ones of the Group III.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (282K) -

ジャーナル フリーA survey was made on the actual state of performance of extraordinary examinations done in high tuberculosis prevalence areas and those of family contact examinations of the index cases of tuberculosis during the period between April 1986 and November 1987 in Chiba Prefecture.The results are as follows:
(1) Forty-eight extraordinary examinations were performed by 19 public health centers.
(2) By these extraordinary examinations, 22 additional tuberculous patients were detected and 143 persons were indicated INH prophylaxis.There were 2 cases of mass tuberculosis infection: from which 19 patients and 140 persons for chemoprophylaxis were detected.
(3) Out of 18 extraordinary examinations done for contacts of cases from danger groups, one was done actually for unnecessary case.As to tuberculin tests, they were not performed in 2 groups, and in another case, the test subjects were inappropriate.
(4) The examination rate of family members of index cases was as high as 95.4%, whereas the performance of tuberculin tests was not satisfactory, especially as regards to the younger populations.The total performance rate of the tests was 29.0%, and the rate in those below 19 years of age was 56.5%, and the rate in those below 29 was 42.9%.
(5) There were 6 families with tuberculosis, which included 14 patients.
It is considered that in extraordinary examinations, appropriate setting of subjects and tuberculin tests for younger persons are important;in family contacts examination, tuberculin tests for younger persons are indispensable.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (649K) -
