A purpose of the present study is to examine how differ children's styles of moral judgment and their traits of interpersonal behaviors according to the degree of their sociometoric status. Children's sociometric status was measured by the interview method. Experimenters asked each child the name of friends who he / she wanted to play with. The style of moral judgment was measured by the follow method. Experimenters showed each child two scenes. One is constituted by contents of that child's motivation is good, but he / she caused much damage. The other is that child's motivation is bad, but he / she caused little damage. Experimenters conducted which scene child selected worse. And the interpersonal behavior was measured by his / her homeroom teacher. Subjects were 71 children in early childhood. Significant results were that boys were selected as their playfellows in accodance with cooperation, but girls were not. The result may suggest us to find the standard that children select their playfellows.

Examination of human papillomavirus (HPV) was carried out using 9 cases of anal canal can-cers by in situ hybridization method. The signals of HPV DNAs showing type 11,16,18,31 and 33 were detected in the six cases of squamous cell carcinoma. But, in the three cases of basaloid, any signals were not detected. These results suggest relationship between the HPV infection and histogenesis of the anal canal cancer.

Cystathionine γ-lyase was purified 591-fold from rat liver by several purification steps, and cystathionine γ-lyase antibodies were obtained from rabbits, in order to study the control mechanism of the synthesis and the degradation of cystathionine γ-lyase. The purified enzyme gave a single protein band at 40 kDa of molecular weight as determined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The monospecifity of antibodies to the cystathionine γ-lyase was demonstrated by immunoblotting.

Cystathionine γ-lyase activity increased with the onset of lactation, and reaching a maximum value (about 2-fold) at week 2. But, in non-lactating rat, from which the litters had been removed on the day of birth, the activity of this enzyme increased only minimally (about 1.2-fold) at 2 week. In this study, both activities of cystathionine γ-lyase and cystathionine β-synthase in the lactating or non-lactating rat liver were found to be dependent on casein intake. However, in the kidney, they were independent on casein intake. The increased cystathionine γ-lyase activity in the lactating rat liver was concluded as a result of an increase In protein intake.

Suppressor T (Ts) cells are known to be regulatory cells in the immune responses. However, it is not still clear that Ts cells exist as one of T cell subsets. To clarify this issue, monoclonal antibody specific for Ts cells was established by immunizing armenian hamster with Ts clone^<g;1)>). This antibody, termed D6,stained Ts clone but not helper or killer T cell clone. D6 inhibited the suppressive activity of Ts cell induced by administration of allogeneic cell in delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) system. Furthermore, it became clear that the expression of antigen recognized by D6 was essentiallyrequired to exert suppressive activity by Ts cells in DTH system.

The synthesis of β-D-galactosidase in Staphylococcus saprophyticus was induced with methyl-β-D- thiogalactoside as the inducer. The induced synthesis of the enzyme was repressed by various carbohydrates added to the medium. Two types of repression were recognized. Repression by glucose, sucrose, maltose or trehalose (type I) was abolished in mutants resistant to growth inhibition by methyl-α-D-glucoside and 2-deoxy-o-glucose. In contrast, repression by glycerol, fructose or mannitol (type II) was not released in the mutants.
