B.F.T. and L.F.T.-S. were performed on 28 cases of R.A. Twenty four cases (85.7%) reacted positively in B.F.T. and 25 (89.4%) in L.F.T.-S. There was an agreement in 25 (89.4%) of 28 patients.
In 55 cases of various diseases including collagen diseases other than R.A., 6 (11%) reacted positively in B.F.T.
All cases whose B.F.T. were beyond 40 dilution showed positive C.R.P. Cases over third decade had tendency to show positive B.F.T. in above 40 dilution. In regard to osseous change and B.F.T. tended to be higher in its titer as the osseous change advanced.
Since none of the patients with simple arthralgia reacted positively, B.F.T. can be used for the differentiation between R.A. and simple arthralgia. It is noteworthy that B.F.T. becomes positive in very early stage of R.A. (even within 6 months) and jubinile form. B.F.T. is so simple and rapid to perform that it has a definite place for the another laboratory adjunct to R.A. and its allied condition.

    1. When the timothy seeds were planted on the cotton moistened with the solution of sodium para-amino salicylate (10mg/cc), pyrazinamide (900γ/cc), or isonicotinic acid hydrazide (500γ/cc), their germinating ability and leaf growth would be disturbed remarkably, but the chlorophyll formation was not disturbed.
    2. Even when the seeds were soaked in the solution of sodium para-amino salicylate (100mg/cc), pyrazinamide (9mg/cc), or isonicotinic acid hydrazide (5mg/cc) for 4 days at 5°C, no toxic effect appeared in their germinating ability and leaf growth, when they were growing on the cotton moistened with pure water after being separated from the drugs.

A closed system technique for measuring pH in aqueous humor may be considered as very reliable method for prevention of carbon dioxide leak and of thermoerror, and all experiments have been obtained in a closer approach to physiological normalcy.
The problem of measuring pH in this system has also been discussed as well as some of the difficulties.
The pH shift from aqueous humor to blood may confirm the findings of previous investigators of a active transport for the electrolyte.
Both in rabbit and in human, aqueous humor and blood may be considered as a buffer system to be applicable to Henderson-Hasselbalch's equation.
Finally acetazoleamide effect for eyes has also been viewed in this light.
Finally the author expresses his sincere thanks to Prof. R. Ooka, and Instructor K. Kawashima for continuous guidance and encouragement.

Chronic pulmonary histoplasmosis and aspergillosis, chronic granulomatous type are symptomatically similar.
Definitive diagnosis of pulmonary histoplasmosis should be made by the demonstration of the etiologic agent but in regard to aspergillosis, even if there is the presence of the Aspergillus in the sputum, definitive diagnosis is not easily made because the organisms are frequent laboratory contaminants.
X-rays, serologic tests and skin tests are also important to aid the diagnosis of such diseases.
The treatment of both diseases appears to be ameable to definitive surgical therapy.
