    古くからグリコゲンの染色にはBest氏カルミン染色が、粘液染色にはムチカルミン染色が使用され今日に至つた。然るに1933年にBauerによつてグリコゲンを含む多糖類の組織化學的證明法が發表され、この方法を用いる學者も多くなつた。Bauer自身はこの方法によつて多糖類のみが染色され粘液は染まらないと述べているが、その後Järvi Gendre Seelinger Hintzsche und Anderegg Wallraf und Beckert等によつて粘液も染まることが種々の細胞に於て證明されClaraはBauer氏法による粘液染色を推賞している。
    吾々はBauer氏法を早くから使用して來た (伊東 Ito und Nagahiro, Ito und Mizutan) が、日本ではこの方法はあまり顧られなかつたようである。この方法の最もよい点はグリコゲンや粘液が鮮かな紅紫色に染まるために、鐵ヘマトキシリンの後染色を施して糸粒休 (ミトコンドリア) 等を同時に染色出來ることである。Bauer氏法はFeulgen氏核反應の1定規塩酸で60℃に保って加水分解を行う所をクローム酸作用に代えただけである。核反應では塩、酸による加水分解によつて核酸のプリンのアルデヒードが遊離し、これにFeulgen氏試藥 (Schiff氏試藥) が作用して紅紫色の呈色反應がおこるのであるが、Bauer氏反應でも恐らくクローム酸の酸化作用によつて同様にアルデヒード反應がおこるものと考えられる (Bauer) 。從つて又Feulgen-Bauer氏反應とも呼ばれる。所が1946年 (昭和21年) にMc Manusによつて過沃素酸HIO4を使用する方法 (Periodic acid Schiff reaction, P.A.S.法) が發表された。これはBauer氏反應のクローム酸を過沃素酸でおきかえた方法で、終戦後吾國に紹介され最近では廣く使用されている。Lillieはこれとは獨自に硝酸を加えて酸性としたメタ過沃素酸ソーダ (Sodium metaperiodate NaIO4) を過沃素酸の代りに使用する方法を發表した。吾國では日比野、安間、小野がLillieの方法を血液細胞の多糖類の染色に用いた。
    最近清水、熊本は四醋酸鉛-フクシン亜硫酸法による多糖類の證明法を發表した。
    吾々は從來使用して來たBauer氏反應を更に檢討すると共に過沃素酸加里を使用する方法について報告し、この方法とBauer氏反應とを比較して見たい。

    細菌の核についてはRobinowは菌体を塩酸處理後ギームザ染色を行い、細胞質内に塩基性に染色される小体がフォイルゲン陽性の小体と一致し且分裂増殖する事を認め、Boivin等は細菌に於ける核酸の分布の研究から、デスオキシリボ核酸の局在を知り、菌体にリボヌクレアーゼを作用させた後ギームザ染色等を行い核と原形質とを區別した。
    私は志賀赤痢菌、パラチフスB菌、大腸菌、葡萄状球菌、連鎖状球菌、肺炎双球菌等についてフォイルゲン染色、塩酸ギームザ染色、チオニン染色を用いて核染色を試みたので茲に報告する。

    A boy, 12 years 2 months old, often complained of pain Regio hypochondrica sinistra for 2 months prior to death. While he was treated in the pediatrics dept, with diagnosis of aseariasis, was found tumor in the above mentioned site, and he was taken to the surgical dept, with esnspected colon tumor. The operation could not remove, the tumor beoause of firm adhesion, and he died.
    Macroscopically were found a formation of ulcer in Flexra coli sinistra, thickening of intestinal wall and consequent narrowing of the lumen, and further; its firm adhesion to peritoneum and stomach wall.
    Microscopic examination showed carcinoma simplex in which was noted mucus. The cancerous ulceration of the mucosa was most advanced in the periphery of the ulcer, and it is supposed to have originated there. The tumor also infiltrated into submucous coats of the other part of intestinal tract by contact spread and into lung in scirrhus by metastase.
    According to the previous statistics, the rate of cancer developed in young men is about 0.5 %. It is rare but not extremely rare. But about cancer in young men's colon (excpt carcinoma of rectum) less than 20 cases have been reported according to the investingation, and so we report this as an uncommon cace.

    It is a essential f act that in the stimulation of a muscle or a single muscle fiber, there is threshold. The author, however, threw a doubt, if the treshold on cathodic contraction of a single muscle fiber would he found or not, and examined on the question in this work.
    In the experiment a single fiber separated from M. sartoius etc. of the bullfrog was used. The employed method for stimulaton and recording of the contraction was the same, as was reported by Matsumoto Masao and Satake Y. Thus the author observed the relation between the grade of contraction and the strength of the applied current. The stimulating current wa right angular current or discharge of the condensor.
    The result are the following :
    With decrease of intelvity, the contraction became smaller and smaller untill it was not observed. This decreasing state of contraction is just like a cury approaching to its asymptote. These states of contraction were observed in cases of all kinds of stimulating current. Considering the results the author confirmed that there was no threshold for cathodic contraotion of the single muscle fiber. But as to the twich of a muscle or a single muscle fiber, of course the confirmation is not applied.

    From the reports of Matsumoto Masao and others, it will be assumed that there would be no refractory period about the cathodic contraction of a single muscle fiber. But there is no work, which intended to assure this problem experimentally. The author, therefore, carried out the experiment to determine if the cathodic contraction would have any refractory period or not.
    In the experiment, a single fiber separated from M. sartorius etc. of the bullfrog was used and was fixed in the so-called Sugi' s isolating vessel. The stimulating current was led to the Ringer's solution of both sides in the isolating vessel by means of non-polarisable electrodes. The experimental results are : (1) When two induction shocks were applied successively with nterval of 1, 0 msec, then the contraction grade was compared with that of for single shock. So it was shown that the.contraction height was always greater in the former case than in the letter. Thus the refractory period would be smaller than 1, 0 msec, if it existed. (2) A single fiber was stimulated with two right auglar currents having same intensity but different duration (0, 01 and 0, 05 sec). So the contraction grade for the current of long duration were greater than that of for the short duration. The current of long duration can be considered as two currents which whrch were given successively with zero intervai. Accordingly, it is, possible to conclude that there is no refractory period.
    On account of these experiments, it was cleared that there was no refractory period on the cathodic contraction of a single muscle muscle fiber.

    Sato measured suditory space with various methods; the results are summarized as follows :
    (1) When an acoustic source mekes slowly rectilineal motion to various directions, the locuge of auditory image deviate convex to the head. In the horizontal plane, the degree of deviation is most intensive at the side and back. In the frontal plane, it is similarly intensive at the side and foot, dut at the upside the deviation is not to be seen. In the median plane the locus is indistinct. (2) With the increase of the distance from the ear in hewing two acoustic images gradually fuse into one and five periods can be classified in them. Linking the points of same period in various directions I got a horizontal component of auditory space which is flat at the side and back. In the same way the frontal and median components were measured. (3) From three sound images which are corresponding to three sound sources on a spherical surface and audible at equal intervals, I got a tangent at the middle sound image by the bisection method and measured the auditory space of phenomenal type. Its horizontal component is flat at the side, the frontal one is flat at the side and the median one has a tendency to be flat in front and lengthened postero-inferiorly. (4) Many sound sources which are formed in a straight line at the various position in the hosizontal plane can be heard not as a rectilineal image but as two groups of sound images which lie on the left and right side or in front and at the back and are of huge comma shape. Using them as a indicator the auditory space was measured just in the same way as in (2). From the many sound sources formed. rn a circle quite similar phenomena were to be seen.
