Homomallium simlaense (Mitt.) Broth., previously known only from the western Himalaya, is recorded for the first time in Yunnan, China. This moss is characterized by large plants for the genus, broadly ovate-lanceolate, abruptly short-acuminate leaves, linear-oblong laminal cells (40-60μm long), well differentiated quadrate alar cells (15-25 in the marginal row).
