The oviposition behavior of two parasitoid wasps of Fagineura crenativora (Tenthredinidae), Endasys sp. and Aptesis sp. A (Ichneumonidae, Cryptinae; Taniwaki & Watanabe, 2012), were studied in laboratory experiments at room temperature. Both species initially dug into the soil to search for cocoons of their host. On the detection of cocoons, they laid their eggs inside the cocoon; however, in Endasys sp., egg laying occurrs only if the host cocoon has not been previously parasitized by larvae or pupae of other parasitoids. The eggs of parasitoids are ca. 2 mm and ca. 1 mm long in Endasys sp. and Aptesis sp. A, respectively, and can be easily dropped from the body of host inside cocoons.
