Euphranta (Euphranta) longicauda Shiraki, 1950, was rediscovered in 2010, after the original description. In 2022, we collected three fruits of Marsdenia tomentosa, an only-known host plant, and confirmed that vast number of larvae inhabited a fruit and fed on seeds which never secrete latex known as having a repellent effect with its sticky properties. In our observation, vines of M. tomentosa have climbed up on trees and the fruits have grown at heights, and an adult was collected around a fruit. These facts may be the reasons why this fly species have been never found in these 60 years. We estimate that E. longicauda is broadly distributed in Japan, west of the Kanto District, and the seed feeding behavior of E. longicauda on Marsdenia was originated in East Asia. Discussion on the type series of E. longicauda is noted.

The subfamily Hybrizontinae Blanchard, 1845 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae), the endoparasitoids of ants, have been observed during the daytime. In this subfamily, there is only one record, that of Hybrizon buccatus (de Brebisson, 1825), collected by the light trap. We record the capture of two hybrizontine species belonging to the genera Neohybrizon Hisasue & Konishi, 2019 and Ogkosoma Haupt, 1913 at the light trap for the first time. Among them, O. cremieri (Romand, 1838) is considered to be a crepuscular species, which is probably related to the biology of the host ant.

Stigmella fumida Kemperman & Wilkinson, 1985 (Lepidoptera: Nepticulidae) is a common species in Japan with a black frontal tuft at the vertex. During the survey, one specimen with a yellowish-orange frontal tuft was collected. Based on morphological comparison and DNA barcoding, this specimen was S. fumida, and thus, it was revealed that this species has a color variation in the frontal tuft. We also collected S. fumida from Quercus variabilis, a new host plant.
