The number of patients with sensory disorders such as cerebrovascular disorders and diabetes will increase in the future. In the medical field, sensory tests are performed for the purpose of diagnosing medical conditions and the degree of recovery. A device for performing tactile and temperature inspection devices has been developed. Tactile stimulation is an air jet non-contact method. In tactile stimulation experiments, stimulation pressures of 0.003 g, 0.016 g, 0.045 g, 0.086 g, and 0.124 g were obtained. For the temperature sensation stimulator, a stimulator with a temperature measurement function was prototyped.
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the architectural characteristics of Seiden-ji Temple and Sairin-ji Temple along the Old Satsuma-kaido in Yatsushiro-city, Kumamoto prefecture. We carried out a mesured survey and a hearing survey for these temples, and made each present drawing.
The main hall of Seiden-ji Temple was rebuilt in about 1772-81 or about 1806. The plan is a model of the Jodo Shin sect of Buddhism. The roof is ‘shikoro-yane’ roof which is a characteristic of the temples of the Edo era after 1668.
The main hall of Sairin-ji Temple was built in 1933. It is asymmetry and stands in a row with ‘zashiki’. The plan resembles a hermit's cell of the Edo era.
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the architectural characteristics of the Kiyomatsu Residence which is one of the modern Japanese-style private houses in Yatsushiro-city, Kumamoto prefecture.
Agency for Cultural Affairs leads the investigation of modern Japanese-style buildings in the all over Japan. However, Kumamoto prefecture has not yet investigated it. At first, we extracted modern Japanese-style private houses in Yatsushiro-city from the result of previous investigations etc. As a result, we extracted 48 houses.
Then, we carried out a mesured survey and a hearing survey for the Kiyomatsu Residence, and made the present drawing and the restored drawing. It was built in 1878. The plan is a ‘tsunoya’ type. In about 1971, it was renovated, and a middle corridor was inserted in it.
In order to detect cyber security threat at NIT Kumamoto, Yatsushiro Campus, we construct and operate an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) in our computer network since December, 2017. IDS has based on a predetermined signature and it can detect intrusions, attacks and other signs by monitoring packet-flow through the computer network. In this paper, we report introduction, construction and operation of this system.
“Botchan” is a story generated by the first person “Ore” write and speak to someone. Narration of “Botchan” can be grasped uniformly by using the concept of implied author. As a result, the place of narrative is conscious. In the place of narrative, what are the attributes of narratee? The narrator uses multiple first person “Watashi” “Boku” “Ore” in the conversation. They are used according to the conversation partner and the scene. Analyzing how to use them reveals attributes of narratee when the narrator uses “Ore”. In the story of “Botchan”, the narrator and narratee have various attributes.
In this article, we establish the fundamentals of Macaulay’s inverse system by using inner homomorphism of the
category of graded modules. As an application, we prove the theorem concerning failure of the weak Lefschetz property for trivial extensions of standard graded Artinian level algebras.
In this article, we give a criterion for high order weak Lefschetz properties of standard graded Artinian Gorenstein
algebras, using the Jordan types of those algebras, which can be computed by Gondim’s mixed Hessian matrices.
The origins of fairies in Irish folktales have been variously considered. They can be summarized into the five dominant theories as follows: the theory of the dead or the ancestor’s soul, that of mythical and ancient gods/goddesses, memories of a more primitive race, human creation, and fallen angels. The purpose of this research is to review these theories by looking at the relations between fairies and humans in Irish folktales. In order to figure out the relationships between fairies and humans, it is effective to collect concrete examples and analyze their frequencies from the three aspects below: plot patterns relating to the encounter and interaction between fairies and humans, fairy abduction, and marriages between fairies and humans.
In this paper, we devised a 3D puzzle using the MacMahon’s cubes and represented this with a 2D map by using the matrix unfolding used to calculate HOSVD. Using this map representation, we developed teaching materials to learn some of calculation processes of HOSVD. In order to investigate the visibility of the map and the difficulty level of the puzzle, the teaching materials are tried by our students and others at the Open Campus Event. As a result, it was confirmed that most users could understand the map and that the puzzle was rather easy to solve. Therefore, it was thought that the users also could understand the matrix unfolding.
In this paper, structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to analyze the causal relationship between sleep stages and environmental data. The data used for the analysis is obtained by a care support device used in an elderly care facility. By applying the stepwise method to this data, we were able to find four observation variables that affect sleep stages. The latent variables are then determined by a scree plot. We proposed a causal model in which four observed variables and two latent variables affect sleep levels. Statistical analysis environment R and the lavaan package were used for SEM analysis in this paper. The results show that SEM can be used to build a rational model for the effects of vital signs and environmental conditions on good sleep.
Hobby electronics is a good opportunity to learn electronics engineering. In this study, the 8-bit Persistent Of Vision (POV) display named Furifuri-LED is developed for educational material. Another POV display with different configuration are also developed. The POV display is utilized for the subject of our open campus, public lecture etc.
In this course, through activities to improve drawing robots, students will understand the mechanism (program) for controlling the robot, and understand the nutrition required for scientists and engineers (research and development). In this subject, when drawing an equilateral triangle with a drawing robot, a problem occurs that an equilateral triangle cannot be drawn due to the hardware even if it is correctly programed. The aim is to train the problem-solving ability by studying the solution to this problem.
Content analysis of the national examination for Technical Radio Operator for On-the-Ground Services in Japan is conducted by using KH Coder which is a powerful free software for text mining: The technical terms necessary for leaning the national examination are extracted as frequent terms appeared in the examination sentences; A co-occurrence network of the technical terms extracted is obtained to clarify the systematic relationship among the technical terms. As a result, the useful information to support leaning of the national examination such as classification of the examination questions is provided.
In this paper, leading an angle of projection and initial speed, with holds the minimum speed at a given point of orbit in free falls, is shown. It would be usually shown in algebraically by explaining a horizontal displacement. We show that, it can be calculated by the relation of an angle of projection with the furthest hitting point. It may be useful for understanding of free falls in elementary physics.
