From 1633 to 1641, Hosokawa Tadaoki was presented with 296 meals by his son, Hosokawa Tadatoshi or others. I analized Tadaoki’s letters. As a result, I found this; Tadaoki liked fish. He liked salman best, konowata secondary, and ayus, lavers and ear shells thirdly. He was fond of a crane, a wild duck, an orange, a persimmon, a chesnut, a matsutake, a melon, sushi, rice cake, miso and ume, too.
