Let s and m(≥s+2)be two natural numbers, and X_s,m be the space of m-point sets in the (s - l)-dimensional complex projective space. We give algorithms to find the Poincaré functions of the spaceX_s,m.equipped with the natural projective structure, and determine them for small s amd m. The results for (s, m) = (3, 7), (3, 8), (3, 9), (4, 8) are new.

This partially expository note extends and refines our earlier work on Gröbner bases of toric varieties [14]. It is closely related to the theory of A-hypergeometric functions due to Gel′fand Graev, Kapranov and Zelevinsky (see § 6). The main new result in this note is the characterization of the universal Gröbner basis of a unimodular toric ideal (see § 5).

In this article, W-surface in a 4-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space E_t⁴ (t = l, 2) is defind and a classification problem of biharmonic W-surfaces in E_t⁴ is investigated. The study of biharmonic submanifold in a pseudo-Euclidean space is an off-spring of the study of a problem “ Classify all of finite type submanifolds in a Euclidean space E^m” proposed by B. Y. Chen (see [5],[6] and [11]). As a result, one classification theorem for biharmonic W-surfaces with flat normal connection in E_t⁴ is obtained. It is a generalization of main theorem in [7].

In this paper, a random operator A from a Banach space X into a Banach space Y is viewed as a Y-valued random field indexed by the parameter set X. The main results of the paper are various conditions for the existence of a modification of A whose sample paths belong to some subset of the space of linear continuous operators from X into Y.
