Through the courtesy of Dr. S. ISSIKI, I had an opportunity to study his collection of Pterophoridae from Japan, Formosa and Hainan. The material treated in this paper was collected by Dr. S. ISSIKI in Japan between 1949 and 1952, in Formosa between 1932 and 1946 and in Hainan in 1942. The study of the Formosan Pterophoridae has not been worked well though the fauna in this family of Formosa is supposed to be rich. Up to the present, 22 species have been known from Formosa and no species has been known from Hainan so far as I ascertained. The present material which is in good condition, in consequence, is valuable for the study of the fauna of Formosa. The present material consists of 44 specimens belonging to 18 species of 11 genera. I examined Here 9 species from Japan, 14 species from Formosa and 1 species from Hainan. Four species are recorded here for the first time from Shikoku, Japan, 7 species from Formosa and 1 from Hainan respectively. I would like to express my hearty gratitude to Prof. K. YASUMATSU and Prof. Y. HIRASHIMA for their constant guidance and encouragement. I am much indebted to Dr. S. ISSIKI for his kindness in giving me the opportunity to study his valuable collection of Pterophoridae and his useful suggestion for my study.
