Euthalia malapana SHIROZU et CHUNG, sp. nov. (Figs, 1, 3, ♂; 2, 4, ♀) This new species most closely resembles Euthalia pratti LEECH, 1891 from Central and Western China, but in comparing with the original description and an accurate, fine figure of the latter shown by LEECH (Butt. China, Japan and Corea, pi. 21, fig. 5, ♀, 1892), the following differences are noticeable. 1) The whitish spots in spaces 6, 5 and 4, forming the central fascia of forewings, are placed more proximally, in consequence these spots (especially of space 4) are more closely situated near the end of the discoidal cell than in compared species. 2) In forewings, the whitish spot in space 4 is much larger than that of space 5, while in pratti those are in reverse. 3) In space Ib of forewings, two small longitudinal white spots are present in this new species, while in pratti they are entirely absent. 4) The central fascia on upperside of hindwings is broader in spaces 6 and 7, and narrowed more rapidly towards the posterior part than in compared species. Length of forewings: 50 mm (♀), 42 mm (♂). Habitat: Formosa. Holotype ♀, allotopotype ♂, Malapa near Musha, Central Formosa, 1. vii. 1957, Wensou Chung leg.
