In this paper we propose a system of materials from primary level to upper secondary level, and develop teaching materials through inquiring helix on cylinder at each level. To identify the system of materials we analyze textbooks/teachers guides and prior studies from global perspective or from long term and local perspective (Ikeda & Watanabe, 2010). We develop two concrete materials following with the system of materials: one is ‘length of helix on cylinder’, and the other is ‘an angle of incline and step of helix’ and we focus on definition of helix.
From the result of the national scholastic ability, learning situation investigation, the present conditions that the procedural knowledge is not integrated with the conceptual knowledge about ratio are described. In this study we design an instruction plan in consideration of the process of the generalization and iteration to promote integration of the conceptual knowledge and the procedural knowledge about ratio and clarify influence and the effect that the lesson practice based on the design gives to the concept formation of ratio. As a result of pre-to-post for 72 fifth graders we clarified the followings. This lesson is effective for the acquisition of the knowledge learned with the textbook as the basics and the improvement of the conceptual knowledge and the procedural knowledge as utilization. In addition, These three knowledge improves influencing mutually.
This paper focuses on the effective learning to understand the proportion that is not able to be understood easily by children utilizing the RTMaC lesson study in the Japanese elementary school. We developed teaching materials and methods, and had the classroom practices about the definition of proportion and a basic concept of proportion. As a result, we confirmed that the teaching materials and methods elevate the children to understand the definition of proportion and a basic concept of proportion.
We receive much benefit from the sun every day. But many high school students can’t imagine a movement of the shadow created by the sunlight. Student’s knowledge and recognition of a space figure are needed in science education at an elementary and a junior high school. However the contents of the math education nowadays are insufficient though they become the bases of science education. Therefore, in this paper we aimed that students obtain structural understanding of a movement of the sun through the practical lesson which is based on the fact that the locus of the shadow becomes a conic curve. Moreover we consider its validity as a teaching material of the space figure education for the students.
It is considered that analysis and application based on methodology of the teaching-learning process is effective for the improvement of student's mathematical cognition. However， lopsided analysis and application that only pay attention to the rationalization of teaching process may lead to the risk of neglecting mathematical structures and characteristics. Therefore， this study focuses on the structural similarities between object-oriented analysis and mathematical structures ， and analyzes the structures and characteristics of the teaching materials. It is intended to bring out the difficulties occurred when learning equation ， and obtain suggestions for teaching equation. In this paper， we discuss the possibility of object-oriented analysis of teaching materials.
In this study we clarify the real state of a bidirectional viewpoint of children in
the learning of the ratio, design an instruction for a bidirectional viewpoint in consideration of
the real state and clarify the effect of this lesson. We carried out the examination on
"comparison of height" for fourth and fifth graders who haven't learned ratio. As a result, we
found out that it was difficult to look from a bidirectional viewpoint in the comparison by the
ratio for children and that it was easy to focus on the double and 0.5 times for them. Through
the lesson practice for a bidirectional viewpoint, we also clarified that this lesson was effective
for problem-solvings of ratio because it let children recognize the basic quantity correctly.
This study aims to make a school mathematics curriculum in nursery school,
kindergarten, center for early childhood education and care, and home. In this
paper, we made a school mathematics curriculum that was based on a child’s
cognition for previous period of 3-year-old child.

and students were analyzed and the framework for mutual related inquiries in
mathematics, mathematics teaching and research were proposed.

Uncertainty Management’ which explained the grammar of science and the uncertainty
management and scientific decision process with decision tree analysis and value of
additional information. This lecture was done for the conference theme ‘Mathematics
