In the previous paper, we proposed a psychophysical RMS granularity σ
p for the evaluation of radiographic mottle [J. Photogr. Sci.,43,103 (1995)]. Moreover, we found that the density dependence of psychophysical Wiener spectrum W
p (ν)at the frequency near 2.0mm
-1 has a good correlation with that ofσp
2 [J. Photogr. Sci.,44,89(1996)].
In this paper, we supported the vahdity of σ
p by comparing with the subjective rating result for additional three medical X-ray films having the different characteristics, and we found more accurate equivalent spatial frequency between W
p(ν)and σ
p2. The equivalent frequencies were 2.0∼2.2mm
-1 on 8000 lm⋅m
-2 viewer and 1.6mm
-1 on 1500 lm⋅m
-2 viewer.
