    In order to produce the slaking resistant calcia clinker, the additives of some oxides system as a preventing agent against slaking have been studied. The results obtained are summarized as follows.
    It was recognized that optimum addition of the some available oxides system for preventing against slaking had obtained by adding copper oxide, calcined at 1050°C. A difference between quenching sample and annealing sample was recognized. Hydration of annealing sample was accelerated by the increasing of addition, but hydration time had no relation to calcined temperature.
    The slaking-resistance met with good results in addition to one percent in the annealing sample, but thequenching sample met with good results in addition to over five percent.
    The quenching samples remarkably declines the intensity of X-ray diffractometer patterns moreover that is extended of the half width. This is phnomena such as straight line will not occur, and as the results at addition of 2 percent to 0.7 percent is unique phnomena.
    The results shown in shrinkage were obtained from the measurements lattice constant of X-ray diffractometer patterns of CaO. A remarkable feature of that is its addition of one percent. Further, anisotropy of the plane (111).
    The crystal surface of the CuO content in calcia clinker grow largely from a boundaly laver, but the inner part was superposed to the sean state of a leaf.

    A method for the analysis of α-CaSO4.1/2H2O (a-type) -, β-CaSO4·1/2H2O (β-type) with the. high pressure differential thermal analysis was studied.
    It was already reported that the temperature range of dehydration of α-type differed from β-type-under the pressure above 15 kg/cm2. However, it is known that their dehydration is affected by watervapor in the self generated atmosphere. Then, the available condition for determination with the instrument used in this study were as follow; sample weight : 100-200 mg, heating rate : 5°C/min, N2 pressure in atmosphere : up to 15 kg/cm2, but β-type in the mixture which consist of one part β-type and nine parts a-type was not able to detect below 40 kg/cm2 in N2 pressure.
    The relative standard deviation of a-type in mixture consisted of, β-type (9) and a-type (1), was less than 4 % at 15 kg/cm2 in N2 pressure.

    The compound known as 11CaO·7Al2O3·CaF2 or C11A7·CaF2 has been synthesized at various temperatures, since Jeeveratnam et al1) prepared as the fluorinated analogue of 12 CaO·7Al2O3·Authors compared the hydration behavior of C11A7·CaF2 synthesized by burning at 850°C (L-type) and 1250°C (H-type).
    C11A7·CaF2 was prepared from the stoichometric mixture of guaranteed reagents of calcium carbonate, aluminium hydroxide and calcium fluoride. Synthesized C11A7·CaF2 was considered to be apure judging from powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The results were summarized as follows.
    1) Pure C11A7·CaF2 can be synthesized at the burning temperature between 850°C and 1500°C.
    2) Addition of C11A7·CaF2 and CaSO4 accelerates the setting of ordinary Portland cement.
    3) The dissolution rate of L-type is faster than H-type, because of its larger specific surface area.

    In order to know the behavior of slag (granulated blast furnace slag) in acidic solutions, dissolution experiments of slag in acid solution were carried out using HCl solutions of various concentrations at a solution/slag ratio of 10.0 at 30°C and the changes in the liquid concentration of the components of liquid phase and in the amount of reacted slag during dissolution were determined.
    When slag was mixed with HCl solution, slag reacted rapidly as basic material with the solution and the reaction was completed in 1-3 hours. The pH of liquid phase increased rapidly after mixing up and became constant in weak acidic condition in about an hour. The hydration of slag after this reaction was not promoted in acidic solution.
    The reaction mechanism of slag with HCl solution was considered as follows.
    The GaO and MgO components in slag reacted as basic components preferentially with HCl solution quantitatively and they dissolved into liquid phase as Ca2+. and Me2+. The decomposition of the slag proceeded by this reaction and SiO2-Al2O3 network structure in the slag was destroyed and SiO2 ane Al2O3 components dissolved into liquid phase. As the solubilities of SiO2 and Al2O3 components in the solution were very low, these components precipitated as SiO2·nH2O gel and Al2O3·nH2O gel.

    Spinel-magnesia refractories for the rotary cement and lime kilns was studied in a viewpoint of coating adhesion.
    Two samples of spinel-magnesia refractoris containin, g different quantity of Fe2O3 and one magnesia chrome brick for comparison were used for testing.
    Studies were carried out by corrosion test with cement materials, chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction and X-ray microanalyzer.
    As the result of micro-structural study, it was comfirmed that C4AF was effective to increase coating adhesion ability on the linings.
