An apparatus for the measurement of the PVT properties of hydrogen at temperatures up to 500 C and at pressures up to 1 MPa was developed by the isochoric method that was combined with expansion method. The objectives of the development of this apparatus are not only to measure the PVT properties but also to obtain knowledge of developing a following new apparatus at high temperatures and high pressures up to 500 C and 100 MPa. The PVT properties of hydrogen were measured up to 500 C and 0.7 MPa and compared with an equation of state.
Pyrolysis and gasification of biomass pellet has been investigated numerically. A two-dimensional, unsteady state single particle model was developed and used for simulation. Biomass pellet was modeled as a porous solid. Pyrolysis and gasification characteristics of the pellet were simulated. Numerical results were compared with experimental data.
