Many companies are making various efforts to increase productivity, but they have not found a breakthrough. One of the measures is a system in which printing companies and manufacturers use a safe cloud environment to promote optimization of printing presses and printing work based on detailed operational information on printing machines. Taking the example of Komori Corporation's "KP - Connect," which is one such system, points to increase productivity will be described.

The graphic arts industry has been using dedicated line networks, public networks, and the Internet since soon after their introduction. This includes using them for basic functions such as data transfer as well as, more recently, remote and online proofing that have the potential to replace standard practices. This review defines these network services and applications in terms of the Web portals used by the graphic arts industry and examines their basic technical requirements, latest technologies, and related factors. It also provides practical examples of their utilization.

Personal information diffused through new media called web media and integrated with existing media such as print media and broadcasting media was uniquely developed based on the keyword "empathy."

This paper describes what "industry 4.0" and its key technology, the "Internet of Things (IoT) ," are and how these concepts and technologies should be taken into account in the printing industry. IoT has five steps, namely data sensing, collection, storage, analysis, and utilization for different purposes. This paper's purpose is to enhance the understanding of these steps to integrate these functions into the real manufacturing environment. Sensing means that networked sensors sense various types of data. Collection shows us how to collect nearly real-time data via wireless networks. Storage describes both super and cloud computing systems, as well as single board computers such as Raspberry Pi. Analysis shows us the types of analytic methods that are spread out in this open source world. Finally, several utilization cases are described as next steps for future IoT implementation. Many examples are introduced as tips for which parts could be implemented in your manufacturing.
