We discussed influences of Cu
+ on the value of absorbance and redox potential in FeCl
3-CuCl
2-CuCl solutions.
We found that Cu
+ in FeCl
3 solutions increased the value of absorbance, but the differences in absorbance among various Cu
+ concentrations were very small and these values approached to that of Cu
2+ solution during aging.
We investigated the precipitates in FeCl
3-etching solutions and in FeCl
3-CuCl
2-CuCl solutions, and found that these precipitates were only Fe-compounds and did not contain Cu-compounds.
Influence of Cu
+ on the absorbance might be neglected in the case of FeCl
3-etching solution, because Cu
+ in etching solution changed to Cu
2+ rapidly and concentration of Cu
+ was very small.
But Cu
+ would have one of important role in formation of Fe-compound in solution.
