With the pupils in the second and the third grade of a junior high school I read the following poem. (Literally translation) "The Sky of a Stranger" Koichi Iijima The Birds have come back. They picked the dark cracks in the ground. Over a roof unfamilier to them, Up and down they flew In the air of perprexity. As if struck by hands, And is absorbed Flowing out no Blood circulates Like a stranger. The pupils described was found the following even value high. "I think the line a stone, the sky is holding its head between its in meditation, longer, in the sky (Termination of all wars I) their impressions on the poem and among them one, which I am very much interested in and 'They picked the dark crack in the ground' means that the birds are fighting with each other for feed, and the line 'Over the roof unfamilier to them, up and down they flew' means they are making preparation for the attack by reconnoitring their victims over the roof. As for the line 'In the air of perplexity', I feel they are determined to get the feed by all means. I am sure the anther felt the same. The line 'As if struck by the stone, the sky is holding its head between its hands' means The birds have eaten stones, taking them for feed, and the sky is holding its head between its hands being ashamed for the mistake the birds have made. 'And is absorbed in meditation' means it is at a loss what to do. 'Flowing out no longer' means, I think, that they are attacked by diarrhea, and 'Blood circulates in the sky like a stranger' means that the birds are breeding from the wound made by the fight for feed. Besides, they are suffering from diarrhea and have fallen sick."
