The news of Yaoya Oshichi's love affair and her death at the fire in 1683 imediately spread all over the country, and the story has been presented again and again in various fields, such as novels, documentary works, yokyoku, kabuki, joruri, preaching joruri, uta-saimon, wasan, nozoki-karakuri-bushi, kodan, rakugo, dancing dramas, etc. I discuss how much the story written by Saikaku in Kaion series influenced upon those Oshichi stories during these 300 years, and at the same time I make a pursuit of what has passed among the genres and of their characteristics of transmission.
