The fact that Kojiki carries "Uta poems" tells that the countries were ruled by means of "Uta poems" in the ancient days. "Uta poems" also played an important role of securing the realities of the Kojiki traditions. "Uta poem" itself, by getting connected with "Monogatari" narratives, gained the basis of existence even when it was separated from the place of ritual; then "Uta poems" changed from something magical to something which expresses the author's feelings.

Needless to say, the Ancient Yamato Nation was not the only ancient national community that came to exist within the Japanese language bloc. The records concerning the royal rituals are well handed down in the second lineage of the Ryukyu monarchy. In the ritual by the king of Ryukyu for the first ears of rice crop, the lingual expressions were used to divinize the throne. As a result, "the epic of rice crop" was separated, and a new expression of throne praising was established. On the other hand, the Onamesai ritual of the Ancient Yamato Nation forms a striking contrast to this Ryukyu case. In Yamato, "the epic of rice crop" is completely taken into the Royal Rights until Royal Rights are divinized by being united with the ear of rice.

Senju Zenji, who was tricked by the arrival of Tengu in Konjaku, Originally comes from another tradition. In its background, there is a historical change of the criticism about Sanro Gyoja, which is symbolized by the phrase "Muchi and Homon fugaku." This story explains that when Senju changes his appearance from Ubasoko to Nenbutsu Shonin, "Muchi and Homon fugaku" is linked to the obstruction of Tengu, in the process of the setsuwa history of the Jodo school of Buddhism. It begins to breathe as a new work of Ojo Shippaidan which shows a new theme. Even a small story like this shows a stream of transition in history.

This is an attempt to respond to Mr.Yamada Kenji's criticism (July 1988) against the quotations from Kristeva etc. jn my essay titled "Elena and Rain." It was not a criticism which mentioned the basis of the reading comprehension of the work itself. However, this second explanation about Sakutaro's poem Namanekashii Hakaba will answer his criticism. This attitude of reading intends not to "name" it, that is, "not to analyze into phrases." It is effective to introduce the theories of Kristeva and Douglas.

This is a discussion about how to motivate the students who have difficulties in expressing what they feel or think in Japanese literature classes. First of all, they are taught to read a literary work "with their whole body." This includesa report of teaching Hayama Yoshiki's Sementodaru no naka no Tegami -which allows various ways of reading- to the students of a high school evening class. The students, being led to be attentive to the expressions in it, wrote their reading impressions. They appreciated the work with their whole body, usingtheir imaginations to the fullest.
