According to biblical interpretations that employ queer theory, the three dialogues between Jesus and Peter (in John 21:15–17) about love can be understood as a male–male romance. However, these three dialogues conclude with Jesus saying, “feed my sheep,” making it implausible that male–male romance is the subject of these dialogues. Therefore, the question is why do these dialogues not take faith as their subject as the dialogue between Jesus and Thomas in John 20:24–29 does? In my view, this problem can be resolved using the homosocial theory. In short, Jesus and Peter’s dialogue about love is fundamentally linked to the love between a teacher and a disciple that embodied homoeroticism and homosociality in the Hellenistic world. Hence, “love” was a necessary condition for Peter to be appointed as the Church’s representative.

The Term Question is from the process of translating the Bible into the Chinese. Nowadays, there are two versions of the translation of “God” in Chinese, one is Shangdi, the other is Shen. According to the missionaries, the question is unsolved. In this paper, the problem of the translating “God” into the Chinese, the Japanese and the Korean languages be considered one question. It try to prove the validity of the argument from three points. First, the point of the controversy of the Term Question. Second, the literary language of the Chinese, the Japanese and the Korean. Third, the principles of translation of the Bible translators. Considering the Term Question in the three languages enables a new understanding to the question, that the coexistence of Shangdi and Shen is a proper answer.

This paper is a study concerning Virgin Mary’s appearance which was supposed to have happened in the early years of Meiji era. In 1867, 153 believers were exiled to Tsuwano-han (present Shimane prefecture) on the occasion of the so-called Urakami-Yonbankuzure. There was a 30-year-old man called Yasutaro among Tsuwano believers. He collapsed by torture of confinement in a 90cm small jail. It has been narrated that he saw " Virgin Mary's appearance " one night. Strictly speaking, he told to his friends " I saw the beautiful lady clothed in a blue gown. So far as the topic of this study is a memory making of this occurrence, we are not here concerned with whether or not Virgin Mary really appeared. This paper is a micro historical discourse analysis of Virgin Mary’s appearance that focuses on how Yasutaro’s friends described the occurrence that he himself narrated.
