Main component of Furozin solution is methyl-N-trimethyl-amino butylate and has a potent cholinergic effect, so the solution is expected to possess a hair tonic and a dermal pigment revealing effect. We have now tried to treat 40 in all of patients of various alopecia and vitiligo vulgaris employing Furozin solution, the results being hereinafter described. Of 31 cases of various alopecia areata, 18 cases were effective or slightly effective, 11 were ineffective and 2 were not obvious, the efficacy therefore being 62.1 %. Furthermore, of 9 cases of vitiligo vulgaris, 4 cases were effective, 3 were ineffective and 2 were not obvious, the efficacy being 57.1%. Though various alopecia and vitiligo are common diseases in the field of dermatology, there are no effective and suitable medicines therefor at present and even steroids are not preferred for their side effects, it being therefore valuable to apply Furozin solution to the above-described diseases.
