    This paper highlights Global Technical Leader (GTL) Development Project as one of the English educational innovative activities at Sendai National College of Technology, in Which 45 selected students among Advanced Courses through English tests of general course, aims to foster fluent English global technical leaders by maximizing global competitive advantages on the basis of a new academic-industrial cooperation network. We will discuss the special teaching methods aimed to encourage engineering student to have technical communication abilities in English by (1) multinational workshops with interaction of foreign graduate Students from the Graduate Schools of Tohoku University who used to give academic presentations, (2)field surveys at industrial companies for technical hearing and information sharing, (3)participation contests of English presentation or debates. This paper also hypothesizes that we proved positive effects on engineering students to learn ESP by the lectures specially designed for technical English presentations and some parts of the presentation evaluation results could be concreted through matching with students’high motivation.

    Eight years have passed since taking TOEIC IP became mandatory for fourth-year students at this college in 2004. The TOEIC-targeted class contents and e-learning software for TOEIC were introduced at the same time. This paper examines the TOEIC scores of the past eight years and shows that the average scores have been decreasing and the lowest-score examinees have been increasing.

    An octahedron of four-fold symmetry consists of two congruent quadrangle pyramids called a kite-like pyramid in this paper. A kite-like pyramid has a base of a kite-like quadrilateral and a mirror plane as shown in Fig.1. When it is divided into two octahedral of incenter sphere, an intersection point of four side faces of two octahedral in the pyramid is supposed to be on a curve called bird-center curve. We will prove that the pyramid has three bird-center curves two of which are hyperbolas and show an interesting geometric property of incenter spheres as shown in Fig.2.
