An analytical method to measure
13C abundance in
13C enriched oxalate using gas chromatograph/combustion/isotope ratio mass spectormeter (GC/C/IRMS) was established. The
13C atom% values of oxalate measured by GC/C/IRMS were nearly equal to those measured by automated nitrogen and carbon analyzer-mass spectrometer (ANCA-MS) giving a high degree of correlation (
r2=0.9999) and good reproducibility (CV=0.224%). This method will be applicable in the study of oxalate metabolism in spinach.
