A simple method for dete r m ination of the mitotic index in suspension of cell nuclei prepared from lymphoid organs has been described. This method tends to yield higher values than a similar method previously described by Christensen (1950). The recommended procedure is as follows: the lymphoid organ to be examined is fixed in N/4 HCl for 2-3 hours to prepare a suspension of nuclei from the whole organ. After staining the nuclei with Mayer's acid hemalum, film preparations on slides are made from the suspension. The mitotic index is then determined after counting 5,000nuclei from each film. It is essential to make sufficiently thin films from the suspension, so that cells in mitosis can be counted with accuracy.

Studies were made of th e effects of estrogenic hormone administration on the anterior pituitary and the testis of the adult male mouse.
A c idophiles gradually decreased in number with the progress of injections and these acidophiles were well granulated in general. In the medium dosage administration group, at the early stage slight increase in number of acidophiles was temporarily observed, when there were somewhat frequently found acidophiles with the negative image of Golgi apparatus, with perinuclear halo and with basophilic filamentous substance in the cytoplasm. At that time, large acidophiles were sometimes observed.
Delta-cells showed conspicuous degranulation in general. In the medium dosage administration group, a great number of delta-cells reacted weakly with PAS reagent and indicated a chromophobic appearance. No signs of degeneration in this cell type were encountered throughout this experiment.
Theta-cells showed abu n dant occurrence in proportion to the increase in administration dosages. But in the high dosage administration group, theta-cells were observed less frequently than in the medium dosage group.
With the progress of this experiment the decrease in size and weight of the testis became marked. This depended on-atrophy of the tubuli seminiferi, ontorci but not on that of the interstitial tissue. In the tubuli seminiferi contorci the normal development of spermatogenesis was markedly inhibited.

On the basis of above results, the author wishes to compare and discuss with those of his predecessors, on diverging features, ramifications, anastomosing views and distributing features, involving the temporal muscle.
1. Posterior Auricular Artery: In dog, cat and goat, branche s from this artery are distributed to the temporal muscle. Ellenberger describes in dog, R. temporalis posterior s. occipitalis of A. auricularis magna s. posterior supplies the posterior margin of the muscle. In cat, Hü rlimann states a thick R. muscularis temporalis of A. auricularis magna is distributed to the posterior portion of the deep layer of the muscle, and Reighard and Jennings ('30) also state of one thick branch of the same artery to the temoral muscle and muscles of the occipital region. The artery, except in human subject, supplies mainly the auricle, and partly the temporal muscle. So, of the auricular branches it has fairly been reported in detail in literature, but of temporal muscular branches nothing is beyond the above-mentioned.
