In 2022, we obtained an information regarding the arrival number of Isyndus obscurus, a predator of the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys to the overwintering site was more than those of normal years. Our review of the survey data collected since 1996 revealed that the arriving number of I. obscurus was the second highest since 1996 (after 2018), with twice as many as that in 2021 and eight times as many as that in 2020. In addition, the yearly changes in the number of arriving I. obscurus were strongly correlated with yearly changes in the H. halys population.

It has been said that termites cannot live in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido, Japan due to the harsh winter, but on October 6, 2022, termites were found on the gravel surface of the “Cascade Garage” of a private house in Obihiro City, Tokachi Region. The termites were identified as workers of Reticulitermes speratus based on the shape of the head and abdomen. This is the first record of the presence of R. speratus in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido.

Bedbugs were captured in monitoring traps at an information technology-related factory in eastern Toyama Prefecture, Japan. They were identified as the swallow bug Oeciacus hirundinis. Therefore, we removed the swallow nests and had collected so many swallow bugs and Argas japonicas from the nests. As we netted around there after removed the nests, no more bug had captured.

The trapped number and sites of Indian meal moth larvae Plodia interpunctella were identified in a rice-milling factory in the Kanto region of Japan for 3 years beginning in April 2020. Fourteen sticky traps for maize weevil had been placed in several areas of the factory and replaced monthly. The traps captured 15 P. interpunctella larvae in the first year, three in the second, and five in the third. During this three-year period, P. interpunctella larvae were captured every month except for the month of February. The larvae might have been roaming around the factory, and they were trapped incidentally. No larva was captured in the shipment areas of the factory.
