    色素凝集体の物理化学的性質を研究することは1) 色素凝集体そのものの物性を理解する, 2) 写真用色素が臭化銀表面上で凝集体を形成した場合, それらの呈する写真作用を理解するうえで極わめて重要である。一般に色素は凝集体を形成した場合, その性質は分子状態の色素のそれとは異なる。本総説では写真用色素の凝集体に関する種々の物性を“Molecular Exciton Theory”に基づいて統一的に説明することを試みた。本文の構成は1) 筆者, H. Kuhn一派およびG. R. Bird一派による本分野の最近の研究紹介, 2) Excitonに関する一般文献の紹介およびMolecular Exciton Theoryの概観, 3) G. Scheibe一派によって成された色素凝集体の研究の総括およびこの分野における二, 三のきわだった研究とその意義, 4) 色素凝集体の写真的物性の解明に欠くことの出来ない色素の吸着状態, 吸収スペクトル, 発光スペクトル, 光電的性質に関する研究の紹介および5) Molecular Exciton Theoryに基づく色素凝集体の超色増感作用と減感作用の説明よりなる。

    Recently, we have made a high-speed simple-operating RMS granularity measuring instrument which could be used with microdensitometer connected directly with it.
    We call it a “one-touch” RMS granularity measuring instrument.
    This instrument has so fast scanning speed on a sample that it needs very short computing time in analog computing circuit and consequently instantaneous RMS granularity measurement can be attained.
    This instrument also has a simple operating mechanism and one can obtain directly digitallyrepresented RMS granularity values at only 2-3 sec after one has pushed the starting button.
    The researches on circularly scanning RMS granularity measuring instrument were already reported by several authers but in any measuring instrument, the out-put signals of microdensitometer were connected to RMS voltmeter directly and were read by eyes.
    In our method, however, this RMS granularity measuring instrument have analog computing circuits internally so the improvement of measuring accuracy and digitalization of signals can be attained easily.
    Moreover, vibrational noise from rotating mechanism is far less than computing ciscuit noise (RMS; 0.003).
    The error of this instrument is about 4%.
    From result of our RMS granularity measurement for two kinds of photographic film it was ascertained that the aperture-independent Selwyn's granularity relation was fairly well hold, and good coincidence with other instruments was also obtained.

    As a preliminary study on the polarography of gelatin-copper complex, the effect of gelatin on the polarograpy of thallous ions which have little tendency for complex formation, was examined. Adsorption of gelatin to the mercury drop and viscosity increase at high gelatin concentration caused some reduction in the wave height.
    Polarography of copper ion in the unbuffered solution containing gelatin shows that copper ions are bound to the carboxyl groups in the gelatin. The association constants of gelatin-copper complex at different gelatin concentrations and (pH 5.5 and pH 5.9) calculated by using Scatchard's equation are in good agreement (log=3.3-3.5, I=0.1).
    Maximum possible number of bound copper ions determined from Klotz's equation is much smaller than number of carboxyl groups in the gelatin.

    If image intensities which are recorded on photographic materials are modulated according to their temparature variation, it is one of the multiplication of information recording, and the improvement in display effects will be expected.
    In present paper authors will try to the encapsulation of liquid crystal using gelatino-silver halide emulsion along with polyanion by complex-coacervation.
    This microcapsulated photo sensitive elements are coated on suitable support which has blackend surface layer already.
    The variation of image intensity which is displayed as in colored density is observed according to it's temperature variation with estimate of it's three color filter densities.
