The boundary-line detection from the human face photographed by color film is studied.
Color information in the picture is extracted by the Microdensitometer scanner with two kinds of red, green and blue filters, namely wide band filters (Kodak wratten No.25, No.58 and No.48), and
R, G, B narrow band filters with the transmittance corresponding to cyan, magenta and yellow dyes peak absorption wavelength on the color film.
The author obtained
R, G and
B relative intensity of the objects through the
H-D curve, and hue of the objects
r, g and
b are determined. Then, by the use of the color differences as the threshold, the boundary-line using only Hue are detected.
On the other hand, the boundary-line detection in the case of considering both Lightness and Hue are also described. And the author discussed the differences of filters, distances and thresholds in order to detect the boundary-line.
