  • ZnO感光層の負の光起電力潜像と水性コロイド現像

    It has been found that negatively charged photovoltaic latent images, induced in zinc oxide binder layers at exposures higher than 106 erg/cm2, are not destroyed in water and the magnitude of its negative photoltage increases by the procedure of wetting with water. The electron latent images can be developed with a hydrophilic colloid developer, consisting of a dye and micellar colloid in water. The micellar colloid particles having a positive charge deposited on the exposed portions of zinc oxide binder layer. However, polymer colloid developers were ineffective for developing the photovoltaic latent images. The colloid materials capable of developing the latent electron image were organic acids such as tannic acid, aspartic acid, stearate chromic chloride, etc., and metal hydroxides such as aluminum hydroxide, iron (III) hydroxide, etc.
    The maximum density of 1.6 was attained with a developer consisting of stearate chromic chloride, water blue acid dye and water, and the image contrast was very high.

    A new energy expression form of determining the sensitivity of photosensitive materials is derived to be: Sr= 50/E, where E represents the energy irradiated (erg/cm2) and Sr is named as the reduced ASA energy sensitivity. For materials sensitive in the visible region (400-700 nm), the value of Sr is the same as that of the conventional ASA. It is of great advantage to evaluate Sr in comparing with sensitivities between photosensitive materials sensitized in different regions. It is clarified that, for the contact printing, the exposure time (sec.), T, is directly related with Sr by an equation: 1/T=0.5 WSrINTl2, where W is the output power of light source (Watt), NT is a correction coefficient calculated from the colour temperature and l is the distance from the light source (m). It is also made clear that, for optical lens systems, 1/T=1.0×10-3kSrW/NTl2f2, where f and k are the fnumber and the transmittance of a lens used, respectively.

    The rate of penetration of monobath components, developing agents and fixing agents, into dry and swollen coated gelatin layers were determined by the method of lateral diffusion measurement through a thick layer.
    The results show that fixing agent (sodium thiosulfate or potassium thiocyanate) penetrates faster into the layers than developing agents, and decreases the rate of penetration of the latter. The latter retardation by fixing agent is more significant in the use of thiosulfate but less in thiocyanate. When thiocyanate is used with thiosulfate, it acts as an accelerator for the penetration which reduces the retardation by thiosulfate.

    Vesicular photosensitive film was investigated by using 2, 6-di (4'-azidobenzal)-4-methylcyclohexanone and cyclized polyisoprene.
    The direct image was obtained by both image and uniform exposure processes. A super high pressure mercurry lamp and a xenon flash tube were respectively used for image and uniform exposure. The dependence of the diffuse and projection densities on flash exposure energy are mainly described. The diffuse and projection densities of the image were widely changed with a flash exposure energy.
    It seems that there is a difference in the image formation mechanisms between a conventional vesicular film and this photocrosslinkable polymers film.
