    Photoelectric properties of sintered AgBr microcrystals have been investigated at low temperature. It was shown that the photocurrent was dominated by the electron trapping condition, which seemed to be related to excess surface silver ions, at the surface of the sintered materials and increased by addition of desensitizing dyes except for phenosafranine. This increase of photocurrent was explained by the electron transfer from silver bromide crystals to adsorbed desensitizing dyes. The desensitizing dyes, which increased the contrast in surface sensitivity of a primitive emulsion at room temperature, did not show the Capri-blue effect at liquid nitrogen temperature.
    From the fact that there was no simple relation between the lowest vacant levels of the dyes and their electron trapping abilities and that the electron trapping by these dyes did not always imply the formation of the latent image specks at the dye sites. it is deduced that excess silver ions at the surface of AgBr crystals play an important role in the electron trapping and the latent image formation at the site of adsorbed dyes.

    It is well known that the computations of the Hadamard Transform can be performed faster than the Fourier Transform, however studies of the Hadamard Transform to apply the picture processing by computer have not been done as the Fourier Transform applications.
    In this paper, the capabilities of the Hadamard Transform in color picture processing have been demonstrated. Two filters in the Hadamard Transform domain were proposed to detect line-elements in the color picture. It has been verified experimentally that those proposed filters have a very similar property the differential filters in the Fourier Transform domain.

    A new peel apart system was studied to obtain a metal image.
    In this system, the sensor was made by coating a photosensitive polymer layer containing diazo or azide compound on the metal layer which was formed by vacuum deposition on polyethyleneterephthalate film. The sensor was imagewise exposed to UV light and was heated at about 100°C for a few minutes. In order to develop the image, the photosensitive layer was subsequently peeled apart by using an adhesive tape. The positive and negative metal image were formed on the substrate and the tape respectively. In the positive type system the metal layer in the exposed area was peeled apart from the substrate, whereas in the negative type system the metal layer remained in the exposed area.
    The photographic property depended on the polymers and the photosensitive materials used as the photosensitive layer. For example, a positive type metal image was formed when poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) and 2, 6-di (4'-azidobenzal)-4-methylcyclohexanone were used, and a negative type metal image was obtained when 2, 5-dibutoxy-4-morpholino-benzenediazonium tetrafluoroborate was used as a photosensitive material.
    The image formed by the system showed high contrast (γ=10) and had a resolving power of 25 lps/mm.
    The spectral photosensitivity of the sensor well coincided with that of the photodecomposition of the photosensitive material. The results suggested that the adhesive states of the metal to both the substrate and the photosensitive layer of the sensor were changed by the decomposition of the photosensitive material. To develop an image, these changes could be enforced by a post heat prosessing.

    It has been reported in a previous paper that a metal image was formed by a new peel apart system. In this system, the tonal range of image can be controlled from high to low ganma depending on the concentration of the photosensitive material of the sensor or heating time.
    This peel apart imaging system was based on the changes in the adhesive forces both between the base film and the methal layer and between the metal layer and the photosensitive layer, when the sensor was exposed to light and heated. For example, a positive type metal image was formed when poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) and 2, 6-di (4'-azidobenzal)-4-methylcyclohexanone were used. In this case, by heating after imagewise exposure, the adhesive force between the metal layer and the photosensitive layer in the exposed area increased, whereas in the unexposed area the force was not changed. But the adhesive force between the metal layer and the base film in the exposed area became smaller than the adhesive force in the unexposed area by heating.
    A possible explanation is proposed that the photosensitive material and its photodecomposed products in the photosensitive layer cause these force changes.
