In 2010, "The micro SLR Olympus PEN" of Micro Four Thirds standard won double titles of CAMERA GRAND PRIX .The characteristics of Olympus PEN series are high-quality, compact, lightweight, no feeling of burden/stress and easy to take both still images and movies by SLR quality. Especially, the consciousness of compact and lightweight is taken into the series’ entire system including the body and interchangeable lenses. We have developed the interchangeable lenses by aiming ultimate miniaturization for optical and lens-barrel design along with making the miniaturizing compliance of Micro Four Thirds standard useful. In order to create compact and lightweight interchangeable lenses, a number of technical difficulties, such as realization of thinner design by adapting lens-barrel retraction system, lens-barrel with a high degree of accuracy, quick and silent AF, adaptation of special lenses, thorough trimming of weight, had to be overcome in the developmental process. Here we refer to these miniaturization technologies.

PENTAX 645D has been developped with the aim to offer a relatively affordable, yet highly operable and durable Digital SLR camera equipped with larger sensor, to nonprofessional, yet highly-enthusiastic photographers, whereas precedent cameras with similar format had been a tool of a professional photographer, both in terms of its extraordinary pricing and the extent of knowledge required for the handling of it. The focus of this article is to detail the unique feature of the Medium-Format Digital SLR camera, a product composed of the latest functionality and thought-out user interface developed in the eingeneering of standard APS-C Digital SLR, as well as the extensive knowledge of larger format cameras accumulated through the development of the film Medium-Format SLR.

We have developed a high-power zoom lens for PowerShot SX30IS, which is the Canon compact digital camera with 35 × zoom ratio lens (f=4.3-150.5/F2.7-5.8). This taking lens attains a compact size by PNPNP zoom type. And the taking lens attains the high resolution by a material of "Hi Index Ultra Low Dispersion", which we call "Hi-UD lens".
