Lytic enzyme activity was found in the purified virion of double-stranded RNA bacteriophage φ6 of
Pseudomonas phaseolicola. This activity increases after treatment of phage particles with non-ionic detergent Triton X-100 or with chloroform.

(1) The habitats of
Tylototriton andersoni BOULENGER in Tokunoshima cover the places 100-200m high, lying particularly on the southern and western foot of Mt. Minata, Mt. Tanpatsu, Mt. Haku and Mt. Inutabu. These areas correspond to places where Kunigami gravel and Riukiu limestone are intricated with each other, followed at the upper place of the mountain by a mostly Palaeozoic formation.
(2) The spawning seems to occur from early February to late June. The peak season probably extends from the middle of March to early April. The spawning occurs in relation to rainfall. The eggs are spawned in humus or under decayed leaves in places adjacent to ponds, puddles and springs.

Two lines of albumin-producing rat liver parenchymal cell clones (BB and BC) have been shown to synthesize collagen at a level of 1-2% of total proteins produced which was two to nine times higher than those by the fibroblastic cells (L-929 and RLG-1). Type analysis of the collagen by carboxymethylcellulose chromatography has shown that the former two cell lines synthesized type I collagen, [α
1(I)]
2α
2, type X, composed of α
1 chains and type Y similar to type III collagen, while a transformed liver cell line (M) did the former two collagen types.

1) The activities of serum and saliva α-galactosyltransferases from group B
m subjects were lower than those from normal group B subjects, respectively.
2) B
m erythrocytes could be converted to the agglutinable cells against anti-B serum by their own serum transferases and UDP-galactose.
3) Sera from group B
m subjects gave two major fractions with α-galactosyltransferase activity on isoelectric focusing; one, focusing at pH 4.2-6.0 (pI 4.8) and the other, focusing at pH 6.8-9.6 (pI 8.5).

The molecular weights of the Le
a- and Le
b-active substances in human urine may be close to 12, 000 daltons according to the gel filtration analysis. Most of the fucose liberated by the mild acid hydrolysis may take an important role in the Lewis activities.
