The shape and the size of barium sulfate precipitates prepared in the range of total concentrations, 1.0-0.0001mol/l, were observed by electron microscope. Shapes were spherical, spindle, diamond and rectangular forms. So long as these shapes remained the same, the precipitation law advocated by P. P. von Weimarn was established. The crystals became perfect by aging without changing their shapes.

1. The gene for orange coat color in cats is sex-linked, while the gene for black or tabby is autosomal. The former, in the homozygous or homozygous state, is completely epistatic to the effect of the latter, while, in the heterozygous state, the former covers only partially the effect of the latter, and a tortoiseshell female is produced.
2. The exceptional tortoiseshell male may be borne of either a tortoiseshell, or an orange, or a black mother. It is a male of complete sterility, but not an intersex.
3. As to the cause of such an exceptional male and its sterility, the writer's working hypothesis postulating an unequal crossing-over between the X-chromosomes of a tortoiseshell mother is untenable. Instead, crossing-over between X and Y of the father which transfers the gene for orange color from X to Y, and reciprocally the factor-complex for fertility from Y to X, seems to be a more plausible explanation. This hypothesis also can account for the origin of exceptional black females from a black or tortoiseshell mother and an orange father.

The period of the movement of ascaris was markedly influencedby changes in the temperature of the solution in which it was tested.If the temperature was raised, the period became shorter generally.It was also revealed that several abnormal movements and posturesof the worm took place in the glass tube filled with the solutionwhose temperature was raised as well as lowered gradually over awide range. Each of the postures differentiated from the original onewas shown in a certain range of the temperature which was changed.But, when the worm was exposed to a relatively high temperaturemaintained throughout the survival time, it showed the normal typeof the locomotion with a much longer period than that of the originalone, indicating less active in vitality, after it had gone throughseveral abnormal movements. The highest and lowest temperaturesof the solution in which few worms could hardly move were 50°Cand 20°C respectively.
