Daily injection of 10mg of progesterone with a view to synchronizing the age of ova in days, suppressed estrus as long as injection was continued. In most cases, estrus recurred on the 2nd day after the last injection. The duration of estrus was 1.5 to 3 days in such cases. One each of four ova (at the 2- and 8-cell stages) recovered from two donors was transplanted, 10 to 30 minutes after recovery, into four recipients whose sexual cycle had been synchronized. Transfers of a 2-cell ovum and an 8-cell one resulted in successful production of normal kids. In an experiment, ova were stored in a mixture of equal amounts of goat blood serum and Ringer solution for varying periods of time. One transfer of four of such ova that had been stored for about 24 hours was of success, and three normal kids were produced.

When pigs at the corpus luteum stage were injected with estrogen, follicle development was suppressed and the corpora lutea then present in their ovaries persisted for a long time. Examination on the potency of the anterior pituitary disclosed that these phenomena were the results of the lowered FSH potency and excessively enhanced LH potency of the anterior pituitary by the estrogen injection. Normal estrus recurred following the degeneration of long persisting corpora lutea and the follicle development. This was found to be due to recovery of the FSH and LH potency of the anterior pituitary to their normal balance.
