Out of 73 cultures from spontaneously aborted embryos or fetuses, sacs and some other conceptive specimens, 37 were successfully grown in culture. Chromosome analysis revealed that, among these, there were 4 specimens with chromosomal abnormalities. They were one case each of triploidy/(69, XXY) and D-trisomy (47, XY), a male showing a high incidence of cells with chromatid-type breaks, and a female characterized by a heterozygousity of the 17th pair. The remaining 33 cases were chromosomally normal.

Pancreatic tissue fragments obtained from 3-week-old rabbit were maintained for 12 days in organ culture provided with a medium comprising 90% modified Eagle's medium and 10% rabbit serum.
Cultures were incubated in a humidified chamber gassed continuously with 3% CO2 in oxygen.
The typical morphology of the pancreas was retained for the first 3 days, because acinal cells degenerated and the central necrosis occurred thereafter.
The major part of the cultured tissues was occupied, after the 6th day, with epithelial cells among which alpha cells distributed in organized or disorganized fashion. With Gomori's staining prodedure, alpha cells were demonstrated for the first 6 days, while, with the immunofluorescent technique, alpha cells containing glucagon could be identified during the 12-day culture period.

On the purified Hb-Hp “subunit” and Hb-Hp complex of human serum Hp 1-1 type, molecular weights and heme contents are presented. From the date obtained, it is suggested that the Hb-Hp “subunit” consists of one molecule of Hp and half a molecule of Hb and that the Hb-Hp complex consists of one molecule of Hp and one molecule of Hb.
