The characteristics of latex and sheep cell passive agglutinations compared with other tests for leukocyte antibodies are: (1) Preparing the antigen solution takes time and needs considerable amount of blood, however, once the pooled or paneled antigens are prepared and stocked, the tests may be performed simply, (2) Test conditions may be standardized, (3) Storage and mailing of antigens and antisera are easy, as fresh leukocytes are not necessary and aseptic handling is not essential, and (4) Sufficient sensitivity enables number of tests with limited quantity of antisera.
