    The actions of buffer solutions were studied over a wide range of pH. The changes of the pH of the buffer by adding NaOH (or HCl) agree closely with those obtained by calculations within the pH range of 3-11. Both measurements and theoretical calculations show that the capacities of the mixtures of the two buffers are the sums of the capacities in each case.

    Diese Abhandlung ist die Fortsetzung des Aufsatzes mit dem gleichen Titel, der in “Juntendo University Journal of Liberal Arts and Seiences” Nr. 1 publiziert wurde. In diesem Aufsatz, der das Gedicht von Friederike Brun, “Ich denke dein” behandelte, erörterte der Verfasser ausführlich die Frage, wer das <du> ist und versuchte zu klären, daß das Du, das bisher für einen Geliebten gehalten ist, ein früh verlorenes Kind ist. Das lyrische Ich hat im allgemeinen oft in den Versen keine Inhaltsangaben. Das hat für den Leser einen Vorteil, sich leicht ins lyrische Ich einzfühlen. Das Gleiche gilt für das lyrische Du. Das Pronomen beinhaltet ein Familienmitglied, eine Freundin/einen Freund, eine Geliebte/einen Geliebten, ein Kind, ein Tier, eine Pflanze oder Gott. Man kann ein lyrisches Gedicht lesen, indem man das Du für eine Geliebte/einen Geliebten hält, obwohl es, solange der Dichter nichts davon sagt, offen bleibt, wen das Du bedeutet. Diese Abhandlung behandelt eine typische Lyrik von Goethe, “Nähe des Geliebten”, dessen Grundform er von dem obengenannten Gedicht von Brun übernahm, und stellt Betrachtungen an über das Du, d. h. den Geliebten. Das Du in “Nähe des Geliebten” ist bisher auch als ein geliebter Mann angesehen. In dieser Abhandlung untersucht der Verfasser die Möglichkeit, daß du Gott seiest, indem er auf den gedanklichen Hintergrund von Goethe und seinen dichterischen Kunstgriff Rücksicht nimmt, und versucht eine andere Lesart des Gedichts “Nähe des Geliebten” anzubieten.

    Cape Cod has generated one of the largest bodies of regional literature in America. A predominant feature of this literature has been a strong attention to the land and nature and to the ways they affect human character and society. The Cape's written literature spans nearly 400 years and even connects back to the earlier oral narratives of native Americans. During this time the land itself has undergone major ecological changes. These changes have been strongly reflected in Cape Cod literature. This paper introduces Cape Cod writing with a particular focus on the interplay between the physical landscape of the Cape and the imaginations of its writers. It discusses some of the efforts of Cape writers to care for and preserve the land. Finally, it considers Cape nature writing from the wider perspective of recent developments in America and Japanese nature writing.
