    There are serological cross reactions among many species of the genera Candida and Torulopsis. The authentic strains of the geuns Torulopsis such as T. glabrata, T. holmii, T. stellata var. cambresieri and T. colliculosa, were used for antigen analyses by means of slide agglutination method using monospecific and absorbed antisera. Atigenic structures of the species were confirmed by the reciprocal absorption method. T. glabrata has the thermostable antigens 1, 3, 6, 10, 34 and thermolabile antigen k. Antigens 34 and k are the new and specific antigens of the species. T. holmii has the thermostable antigens 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 26 and T. stellata var. cambresieri and T. colliculosa have the thermostaqle antigens 1, 3, 4, 24. The last three species do not have any thermolabile antigen. Therefore, it can be concluded that the antigenic structure of T. holmii is the same to that of Saccharomyces exiguus, ann the antigenic structures of the last two species are identical to those of. S.rosei and S. fermentati.

    The author intended to study how the contraction of the puerperal uterus varies with the climatometeorological changes. For this purpose, the climate and the weather of Japanese Islands (especially Tokyo district) were classified into 4groups by Arakawa's method : namely, Siberian, Yangtze, Okhotsk, and Ogasawara air masses, and each group was further divided into 4 parts, namely under the influences of High, Low, stagnant Front and others. Among all parturitions at San-iku Kai Hospital (Tokyo) in 1950-1951, 2466 primiparae and 2484 multiparae who had normal puerperal courses were selected. The degree of the contraction was represented by the length of the uterus fundus. The contraction of puerperal uterus under each climato meteorological condition was investigatedstochastically. The result obstained is summarised as follows : 1. Under the influences of Low the contraction is fast. 2. Under the influences of High the contraction is generally slow. As to the seasonal differences, it is faster in winter (Siberian air mass), slower in summer (Ogasawara air mass) and moderate in spring, autumn and the rainy season (Yangtze and Okhotsk air masses). This finding indicates the essential and representative seasonal variations of the puerperal uterus contraction. 3. Under the influences of stagnant Front the contraction is moderate. 4. When the air masses were compared with each other by disregarding meteorological conditions, the contraction is fast in spring and autumn (Yangtze air mass), slow in summer (Ogasawara air mass) and moderate in winter and rainy season (Siberian and Okhotsk air masses). Here, the finding indicates the average seasoaal variation of the puerperal uterus contraction. Finally, the influences of climato-meterological changes on the contraction of puerperal uterus were discussed in relation with the autonomic nervous system and posterior pituitary hormones.

    In the clinical investigation, preoperative surgical patients were divided into 4 groups by nutrition : (1st group) below 500Cal intake, (2nd group) 500-1000Cal intake, (3rd group) 1000, - 2000Cal intake, (4th group) above 2000Cal intake. After blood and amino acid solution transfusion for them, relationships between their serum protein and tissue protein were observed. The results were as follws : 1) In most cases whose caloric intakes were below 2nd group, ulilization rate of protein was not propotional to their protein intake. In their cases, serum protein and tissue protein could not increase their level by blood and amino acid transfusion. 2) There was narrowly relationship between liver protein and serum protein. Serum protein was kept in normal level by a sacrifice of liver protein in those conditions. In the experimental studies, serum protein, tissue water contents and wound healing was observed in the three groups of gastrectomyzed dogs, 1st proup was supplied with hunger oral feedings, 2nd group was supplied with usual diets and 3rd group was prepared special diets containing high protein and high calorie in early stage after gastrectomy. The results were as follows : 1) In 1st and 2nd group decreased serum and tissue protein but decrement of serum protein was lower than of tissue protein. 2) In 3nd group, incresse of serum and tissue protein was observed, increase rate of serum protein was faster than of tissue protein. 3) Serum protein was kept in normal level by a sacrifice of liver protein. 4) In 3rd group was observed increase of serum and tissue protein, decrease of tissue water contents and increase of wound mechanical strength in comparison with the other groups. These facts were also confirmed by histrogical observations of wounds.

    The authentic strains of four species of the genus Hansenula and one strain of the genus Torulopsis were obtained by the courtesy of Dr. L.J. Wickerham, the Northern Utilization Research Branch, U.S. Department of Agriculture. Antigen analyses were performed with the strains by means of slide agglutination method using monospeific antisera homologous to antigens of the genus Candida. Then, antiserum of a species was absorbed repeatedly with heated cells of several species of the genus Candida in order to find a new antigen, until the absorbed antiserum was exhausted. No new thermostable nor thermolabile antigen was found, although antigenic structures of the species were established by the experiments. They were confirmed reciprocal absorptions, and the antigenic structures of the five species were presented. The antigenic structure of H. ciferrii is the same to that of H. anomala, and the antigenic structure of H. beijerinckii is identical to H. californica. H. jadinii and T. utilis shows the same antigenic structure of C. utilis, and H. angusta bears resembrances to the antigenic structures of C. krusei and C. utilis.
