The band-spectrum of CCl in emission has been obtained by means of condensed discharge through continuous flow of carbon tetrachloride vapour. Its vibrational structure has been investigated. The heads are represented approximately by vh={35756.5 35852.4}+953.6v'-18.8v'2-861.1v"+3.5x"2 The transition is probably 2Σ→2H
A study of the partition function and of the equations of state of solid and liquid is made. By assuming a simple form of mutual potential energy function, we have obtained F-like curves as in the van der Waals' theory and determined the in- citing point by the condition of phase equilibrium.
