Pecten naganumanus was described and figured by Dr. M. YOKOYAMA in 1920, it was from time time reported from many regions by different authors. At the present time its known southernmost limit in distribution is in Philippine Islands, while its northernmost one is in the Setana series of Hokkaidô, northern Japan.
